Thanks folks -- interesting thoughts. Given how much weight the Olympics have in investors' minds sometimes, I do wonder what will happen to some Chines stocks when we start looking out past the Olympics.

I own Aluminum Corp. of China, and it has been a winner for me so far, although I have sold calls on the stock, and believe that it may be stuck now that they have started acquiring other firms. Also, the big moves in merger and acquisition may have died down, which will slow the inflow of big hedge fund arbitrage money. I would guess speculators will pull their money out of this stock very quickly if they see a downturn in world construction or with ACH in particular. However, there are a lot of people betting that China is THE place to invest until after the 2008 Olympics in Bejing. Any comments on that event as a catalyst for further profits would be appreciated... your turn!
