Hi folks — to keep the spreadsheet data, which I think can be quite interesting, from being forgotten I’ve decided to publish a little bit of it here every day.
You’ll find, at the bottom of each page on this site, a list of the top ten teaser companies, ranked by performance/percentage gain to date. Those links at the far right side that are cut off are for the Gumshoe articles on those stocks. A wiser man than I would figure out how to not cut those off. I probably won’t.
So, while I’m falling behind on my “regular” updates, at least this will give the basic info for those of you who choose not to view the full spreadsheet (which is always available here as a webpage, or as an Excel download here). Those of you who are newsletter providers yourselves — well, here’s your short term, probably meaningless scorecard. I hope you make the top ten!
As always, let me know if these little widgets, doodads and gewgaws that I add are at all useful for you, or if you’d rather see different ones.
Thanks for reading, for sending in spam and participating in the great Gumshoe Forum to the profit of all of us, and for being the fabulous readers that you are.
Looking to learn? There are plenty of good trading courses out there, but for traders just starting out, they’re a bit pricey. Here’s an alternative — and an “on the house” preview!

A while ago I received a teaser email, used the clues to decide it was XSNX. I bought some, the stock promptly dropped. Have you done an article about XSNX? I love your service.

Thanks for the comment … no, I’ve never looked at XsunX before and have only a passing familiarity with the company. In solar, the ones that have appealed to me in the past have been MEMC Electronic Materials (an indirect play), Suntech Power, and Cypress (as a play on Sunpower). I’m far from being an expert on this field, but my personal sense is that this is an area where there are big advantages to being a bigger company — economies of scale, proven ability to manufacture in quantity, access to customers, financial stability if/when the current solar mania and low interest rates moderate, and, perhaps most importantly, access to materials.
We’ve looked at several other solar-related stocks before, including World Water and Solar, Trina Solar, and probably some that i’m forgetting. Thanks for reading.

Your Spreadsheet and YOUR WORK are great!
Glad to have found this site thru…you guessed it, a stock spam teaser on silxf/silxy. Now I dont feel as bad as I did before in trying to decipher these teasers that are not usually available for cheap commissions in some brokers, as they are pink sheets, etc. So most of time my own sleuthing amounts to nothing.

This may be off topic, but gumshoe what is your take on VALUE LINE?? I have been looking at VL at my local libary for a second opinion on stocks and i am wondering if they are still as reliable as they were in the past.

Hi ENCE. I’ve never tried using them for the predictive ability of their rankings, which some people swear by, but I love the service and the data they provide — I like the snapshot of all a company’s data all in one place, particularly, and I do look at it from time to time.
