I owned Mc Caw cellular when it got sold to AT&T. It turned out to be a wonderful thing over several years, if I had only sold my Lucent soon after they spun it off to us. Anyway, I have watched this one with interest ever since it IPO'd. I have a hard time keeping the checkbook closed every time it dips.

I happen to have a different perspective on this, as I know people on the marketing end of the company. Bottom line, the product has some serious shortcomings which may or may not be solvable. Add to that a corporate structure that's a little topheavy and unwieldy and I don't see this taking off.

There are too many trees in the way to see this forest. After it was too late, when Ma Bell got torpedoed back when..., everybody with any sense realized that doing in Ma Bell had been one of the larger mistakes America had made to date. It was realized also that eventally Ma Bell would reconstitute herself. In the fullness of time, this has happened. SW Bell has taken over again by restoring Ma Bell (still somewhat in progress) and the benefit is a major upgrade in management philosophy. Verizon and some of the Rural Telephone-Telecoms will survive as the "competition" to the new Ma Bell, A.K.A. AT&T. So just buy AT&T, Verizon, and probably some of the better Rural Telecoms (great dividends!).
