Let me put it this way I would quit my great job for the opportunity to market this and have a sizeable territory. If doctors do not want it, I’ll do it for them.

You Sir ask yourself all the wrong questions. Is skin cancer a fear? Does melanoma kill large groups? If you answered yes then are people afraid of it? Yes then continue are they happy having some doctor look at it and tell them? Either way they don’t want skin removed just because the guy say he would like to or no because it looks ok to him but he could be wrong? Always that disclaimer in there somewhere. Your thinking is correct but your questions are all wrong. Its a comfort thing and the people’s desire is what will drive this baby. A lengthy TV campaign should drive demand so high for this device a doctor will be forced to purchase or send enough business down the road to make anyone sick.

I am glad that they passed the mustard on the test. I suspected that they would but it was too binary for my blood.

The risks that this puppy metastsizes is very high as it is for all companies that have to make the transition from a research project to an operating company--especially when you have a Doctor running the show.

It is also interesting to note that they do not intend to pursue a CPT code. They will solely be targeting private pay. The 64 thousand dollar question is is, will a derm patient pay an extra $100 or so to have a scan done?

Also will the Dr. want to buy the device as was discussed in the first go 'round.

MELA has already passed Phase III testing and the FDA has said they will fast track the application as soon as it is received. Company has been delaying submission of the application while they ramp up production in anticipation of speedy approval.

If you go to Yahoo/Finance and enter the stock symbol you will find articles that report on the Phase III test results. MELA outperformed a panel of the leading dermatologists in the country according to the report.

Readers have been focusing on 2% failure to detect rate (Phase III success rate was 99%) and it turns out that is substantially better than the panel of experts.
