Gumshoe Reruns

I’m off holidaying it up along with many of the rest of you, but in case you’re curious or new to the Gumshoe, these are the previously covered teasers that have been hitting my mailbox with some velocity today.

Robert Hsu seems to be pushing Mosaic again as his fertilizer pick, a call he’s been making for a long time.

The solar plays are not all returning to my email box, but one certainly is — I’m seeing all kinds of repeats of the Biggest Solar Energy Project Ever from Green Chip Stocks. This is the one about the solar energy technology lining everyone’s home … and in practice, mostly about solar roofing tiles.

The “Secret IPO Registry” ad came back to life about a month ago, but since then has been flooding email boxes across the land, no doubt as an attempt to cash in on the Visa IPO hype. Can’t blame them, I suppose, this is the first time anyone’s been this excited about an IPO sine VMWare last year.

And the Bill Gates/Baker Brothers Cancer Cure is in massively heavy rotation, I’m getting emails about that consistently every day — but I first wrote about that just a few weeks ago, so you’ve probably already seen my comments.

Many of the “greatest hits” are still in rotation as well, but those are already all listed here and most of you have seen them before, so I won’t repeat myself there.

I hope everyone’s having a fabulous weekend. The debate in the comments below was about a tasteless Easter analogy/joke of mine that I have since deleted so we don’t get too far away from the point of this site.

See you next week for some more hot new teasers.

    1. Why do I get the feeling you’re not really sorry about the irreverence?

You start off a written (and hence editable) piece with an apology, go on say that you deliberately chose to act in bad taste, and then apologize a second time, so I guess you are pretty sorry after all.

    2. Give it a rest Catawba. If you don’t like the humor and commentary, which I think is on topic and perfectly acceptable, go elsewhere.

    3. Why is it when somebody makes a joke or says something that is not “neutral” in taste, someone has to get their panties in a wad? Ease up. I thought the Gumshoe humor was timely and funny.

    4. Unquestioned belief is what many government and religious leaders desire.
That way they can more quickly remove you from your money and your rational thoughts.
Question everything and especially your own beliefs.

    6. Though I’m really turned off by “political correctness” their does come a time and place when certain things should be sacrosanct.

No, I do not pull up a stock review website and get my “panties in a wad” over dry commentary about Easter inuendo. However, there are enough of us Christians out here who understand Easter’s meaning for all mankind.

Do not take Catawba’s dislike as being super sensitive. He/she is just defending the sanctity of the most important day of the year.

So if you can dish it out then don’t get your “panties in a wad” because I choose to defend our Savior, Jesus Christ.

      Happy Easter Everyone!

    7. Bless you. A resounding defense. I’m with you, and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

    8. Well, I can’t help my irreverence, which applies to most things, but hope it wasn’t perceived as an attack. I have no agenda on this front. .

    10. Gumshoe,

I wasn’t upset at your article and saw no hidden agenda by it. I was merely responding toward other commentary.

BTW… Love the website and your insight into the e-mail teaser world. Keep up the good work. Money has become some what of an issue this year, but I do intend to become a subscriber. Your type of entrepreneurship is generally well rewarded, when the quality of the product is first and foremost.

    11. I totally agree with J.L. Seagull….very well and succinctly stated, IMO.

Gumshoe is doing a tremendous service to all of us (for very little compensation) and we should all be grateful EVERY day of the year.

      go up.

    17. I am surprised… In a bad way!
Gumshoe is doing a fantastic joband with a great sense of humor. And is now getting attacked due to a couple of words that could be interpreted as disrespect towards a religion.
Come on people. This is am investment website and we must therefore assume that most of the people reading it has an IQ over 50. And personally I do not know anyone that I consider just reasonably intelligent that still believe in Gods, Prophets or are in any other way superstitious. If you do/are then please just keep it to yourself and let Gumshoe do it’s fantastic (free) work.
      Amen!

    18. Don’t know why all this bru hardy har har has occurred on a financial web site but it does reinforce a personal belief that religion has fostered more misery on this plane throughout recorded history. Gumshoe, please keep up the tremendous work (especially the exposing of Stansberry et al and their continual hyping of new “teaser” newsletter offers). Your work is the best info site going!

“High-Yield Investing” with Paul Tracy & Carla Pasternak?
I’m a sucker for these teasers and need guidance.

    20. Being in sales I have learned there are several subjects you don’t bring up in a business meeting; namely religion, politics or abortion. People’s minds are made up already, and all you do is cause more shots across the bow, as demonstrated by the 19 previous posts. This forum is, in effect, a business meeting. Though I am tempted to jump in the fray, I won’t. I say we stick to investment discussions here.
