Interesting insight on medical use of nickel . . .
I was over at a friends house the other day and saw the mailer regarding “Putin Protection Plan”, but saw glaring mistakes so I rather discounted most everything else. None the less, my curiosity grew so I figured I’d check out The Stock Gumshoe.

Glaring mistake number one: (I have to paraphrase) “Make 300% by next year”. You do this by making 100% each on three separate stocks(?). In my brokerage account, this would only be a gain of 100%!

Medical mistake: Many years ago I was doing some service work in a medical lab and commented to the head dude in charge that the stainless steel medical equipment didn’t look right. He told me that decades ago the medical community found nickel to be toxic to humans, so surgical stainless steel has no nickel in it. So it doesn’t have the same luster that one is used to. He went on to say that it has since been realized that not enough nickel would enter the body to be a threat, but nobody wants to change (due to potential lawsuits if and when something goes wrong).

I realize it’s a small deal, but just one more thing the copy writers (probably) got wrong.

To Red68. Tim Fields has been pushing xdsl. They just demonstrated a remote device that powers rfid devices without losing power and is very small in size. They tout the idea that this remote power device is a great improvement to existing technology. If they are right, their battery has huge market potential. I have personally invested. you can check out all their news on their website or E-Trade which posts the news.

Nickel and cobalt are sister metals like platinum and palladium. Most nickel mines are succesful if they have enough reserves and reasonable costs of production as well as a buyer. This is a judgement call. I agree with the poster that this nickel mine does not have a reserves to really go anywhere.
I have also heard that chinese people try to smuggle nickel into China because the price internally is higher than the world market.
Just my 2 cents.
