Yes, RO for homeowners. I have one in our house to treat city water. Purified water from outlets and stores commonly use RO. Thanks.

RO is used to get fresh water from salt water. Ask any yacht owner to show you the high pressure pump used to force fresh water out into the collector. I think your RO comment was for homeowners that have a high mineral content in their well water and must use RO to make it better.

yes, de-salination is expensive because it process salt or sea water. In countries where fresh water is scares they have no choice but use sea water. Reverse-osmosis just purifies fresh water by removing the minerals.

I've been touting water investments for longer
than I can remember...And for the most part looked stupid...
I like and have owned both Pico and Veolia for many
moons...I wouldn't feel like such a goober, if
Veolia wasn't sitting right next to Vestas...
If that won't frost your nanny, nothing will.
Still...The reality; Is a water crisis, for a variety of reasons...Veolia is more heavily involved in China, than anyone else...They built the largest de-salination plant in the world, in Bahrain...Still, it's dying on third...De-salination is expensive...Not like reverse-osmosis.
I'll not leave Veolia for now...May not have to....There are some very good ETF's for water...Which shouldn't be ignored...Claymore has a good one.

Hmm, odd that their ticker search wouldn't come straight up with VE as the first entry, since most folks look for regular stocks before odd commodity tracking indexes and the other stuff that comes up in a VE search.

If you do go through and select the NYSE listed VE for Veolia, by the way, it will tell you that it is in a "strong downtrend" -- it scores a negative 90 on a scale from -100 to +100. I'd argue that at some point this will turn, since they have real earnings and are in a solid long-term sector, but the charts and TA indicators that I've seen seem to mostly agree that it won't turn anytime soon (this isn't my focus, so I don't know if that's true for all charting strategies). I'll be curious to see what happens.
