I love your site!

I took AWAI's copywriting course and have read numerous books on the subject, this after studying social influence (the Cialdini Method)and hypnosis over the years. I only mention this because it is what draws me to these stock market copy pieces (in addition to getting sucked in occasionally--hey, knowing how this all works in the mind offers no immunity :u). I am sure you would agree that these storytellers are pretty good, and interesting skills are on display in these adverts.

So, I try to reverse-engineer the names from these stock adverts the way many do crossword puzzles, although without specific industry experience in most cases--which makes it challenging. No I have a place to cross-check my answers!

Sooo...you can imagine my delight at finding your site.

Very Best Regards,

Initially I'm told that his pre-intro of the Energy & Scarcity was discounted, but still too rich for my taste (& checkbook), but Byron has only been at OI since April, '07. It was Justice Litle & whomever he preceded that should get most of the credit for OI's years of being #1.

Byron writes extemely well, but what my previous post was driving at was his complete lack of capital preservation, he drank the "buy & hold" Kool-Aid 100% & nearly destroyed OI's portfolio. It's nowhere near #1, or even Top 10 now that Justics & Co, mgmt. ran up.

The publisher chose to keep us long time subs in the dark as to why the editorial change; but the results speak for themselves. Portfolios must be protected, & I'm well aware that Warren Buffitt fell on that same sword as did Ken Heebner, but I wasn't invested with BRK or the Focus Fund, & there you have it Travis.

Peace!

Thanks Terry -- Raser uses UTC's generators, and I'll take your word for it that UTC developed this technology ... Raser says that they hold "license rights to several key technologies" in this area, and it may well be that these licenses are all from UTC, I don't know. The two companies do seem to work fairly closely together, with RZ certainly leading the charge for geothermal development using these lower temperature binary heat transfer designs.

Interesting about Iceland -- I'm surprised they had any need for a lower temperature technology at all, though I do see that many of the folks working on geothermal designs are also focusing on cogeneration, often from burning trash or using "waste heat" from other processes, interesting.

Appreciate the comments, clarifications, and added info -- thanks again.

There is an error in your write-up of Polaris Geothermal in Nicaragua. They are producing power now from their first power plant but have plans for far more. They are not profitable as you indicate.

Raser does not own the technology that is used to produce power at lower temperature wells. United Technologies developed the "reverse air conditioning" for Chena Hot Springs Spa in Alaska.

The bizarre claim by an engineer that geothermal power is not fittin' is belied by the numerous plants around the world.

One of the projects to develop geothermal power from the United Technology invention is in an oil well in Florida.

One of the countries using low temperature with another invention is Iceland. The hamlet of Husavik utilizes the kalina cycle and added heat from burning garbage to generate 3 MW of power.

Flash geothermal power plants are generally cheaper than coal plants. It is the drilling that is expensive.

Some of your comments are right on the mark but not all.

Best, Terry
