As a Canadian I have no direct interest in whether the Obama initiatives succeed or fail other than the spill over effect, which has been considerable.

My take is that while Obama is obviously a highly intelligent man and MEANS WELL in taking decisive action and may be identifying problems that need fixing, too many of his SOLUTIONS are still locked into the status quo establishment flawed thinking.

The biggest reason for many of his initiatives to fail on the financial side is that he has chosen the very same people who CAUSED the problems in the first place as "FIXERS" who are in the process rewarding their cronies in the elite establishment with the same tired old failed policies of attempting to inflate away "OLD DEBT" by creating humungous amounts of NEW DEBT!

At best he is "deferring" the problem and potentially making it much BIGGER as future inflation destroys our purchasing power. Some of the actions taken by Paulson, Geithner, Lawrence Summers and others border on the criminal in my opinion, they do not serve the interests of the average taxpayer!

Politics are probably best left somewhere else. Would you know the truth if it was staring you in the face? I encourage everyone to really take a look, optimistically,at how we got here, and where we're headed. It's an obamanation!

I'm with Panskeptic. A couple of years ago I followed up on a Motley Fool ad and was given Philip Durell's "newest hottest star pick" for free. I bought a few shares and the dividend held up but the share price fell too far too quickly and then the current situation developed. I sold at a loss and added Motley Fool to the list of those banished from my little world.
