I JUST today,March 13,2010 received this Flyer advert from this very newsletter /editor.
I wanted to sleuth out the name of the stock if I could. And so of course my first effort was to see if Gumshoe has reviewed it already. Sure enough, you did, and Amazing to see, that this exact same flyer promo was first sent out last October ?!?!. and in that issue he was Proclaiming that this stock would hit paydirt by march 2010. Now,in the current flyer advert, he has pushed that magic date up to June 2010.

I was quite captured by the seduction of this flyer,as were many others last fall it seems, and was very inclined to just sign up right there.
Now I dont need to ,thanx to stock gumshoe. saved me 49 bucks.

Having said these things, which may be less than complimentary toward the newsletter, the promo hype, etc
I do want to comment about the stock chart in terms of technical analysis.

You say the stock popped upon the promo hype last fall, actually it crashed for one day around october 2nd to 6.00 and then blasted off from there to 12 dollars ,and then slid downover a month and a half period in classic 3 wave ABC pattern,a normal correction, and also a 50% fibonacci back to the 9.00 area.
From there is slid sideways ,in a range, between 9.25 and 10.75....this is often a base building zone, and the chart looks like a classic cup and handle, from where a good pop upside ought to happen .

This stock did not propel upward during the month of december, into the new year, like the greater market did, it consolidated sideways, as well as sideways during the heavy sell off in january.
This all shows me a sign of strength for this stock, defying market forces, moving to its own dynamic....and when the greater market reached its last bottom on feb 5, KTOS ,completing the cup and handle, was ready to take off and thats what it did.from 9.50 to 14.50.
It just made a double top the other day and now ongoing a big correction, very volatile.

The elliott wave structure is quite clear, and portends a wave 5 uptrend targeting the 17 area. Guess where the weekly 200 MA is....17.
Key s/r points are respected,and targeted,and hit.....
If we ignore the whole advertising newsletter market promo hype that is always sleazy sounding
and just look at this chart
the chart looks like a winner, with room to run.
If the company fundamentals are ok,I DO actually like the idea of 'government inside edge'
and might be worth a small bet.

A few years ago we did a very extensive study on these pump and dump newsletters, flyers and email. Our analysis showed that by the time you get them, the stock has already advanced 50% of the move in two weeks and then crahed two weeks later. Out of 200+ teste, zero lasted more than one month before they crashed back to pre-pump levels

I'm not convinced. GSA announced over 50 winners on March 27, 2009, as you state, but Kratos Defense was not one of them--and as you also state, they aren't really into cyber security.

Since none of you seem to bite (too hard, this lurker is going to "delurk" and put my two cents in with Karel Rei. I have been receiving the standard group via email for about two years and feel as if I am tackling a Giant Squid (20,000 Leagues Under the Sea). I know that I would not make a good day trader. I don't see buy and hold as a solution to my financial limitations but don't feel free to take wild risks.

Where is the handle on the Squid?
