Indeed, the bidding war over ROY has been a big boon for Altius, too, since they're locked in on the Royal Gold offer and own a big chunk of the shares. Nice news for ROY, they could easily have had a couple disappointing years waiting for other royalty investments to pan out.

I have learned from experience that Dan Ferris seems to know what he is talking about. 6 years ago, he had about 10 recos. His logic seemed very compelling. I invested in many of the companies and made quite a bit. Even his great recos got taken down last year and I lost a bit due to not using trailing stop losses. On August 10th, I got the Stansberry email where Dan Ferris spoke about ROY. Again, his logic seemed so compelling. I bought ROY at 3.66 and after their recent buyout by Royal Gold, they are up 94% to $7.10 ! I am very inclined to listen to Ferris about Altius! Thanks Ferris and thanks Stock Gumshoe!

It was not illegally seized by the Venezuelan government and will never get a penny out of that claim. Unless the Americans invade from Colombia.

Maybe so, I bought Altius for their broader portfolio of base metals and energy, not primarily gold ... and because they're conservative and they don't have to invest much to develop their properties.

But if you just like Viking and think it will be a huge winner, Northern Abitibi is certainly a possibility and could easily move higher than Altius based on great performance from Viking (eventually -- it's still just gold in the rock at this point).

The way to play this is not buying Altius but rather buy the owner of the property Northern Abitibi Mining (NOMNF). $.18 A SHARE Tiny market cap and other properties to boot.
