Hi, I have recieved 4 or 5 different letters about this company! I kow that most of the time these are teasers and a bad risk but never have recieved letters from 5 different teasers. What’s up? signed stock trading begginer!

If they’re telling you the name and urging you aggressively to rush out and buy it, it’s almost always a paid promotional campaign — not a “teaser” (a teaser ad is trying to get you to sign up for a newsletter, a stock promotion letter is trying to get you to buy a stock to drive the share price up). You can almost always tell just by looking at the small-print disclaimer, which will tell you that the “newsletter” was paid $15,000 (or whatever) as a “marketing fee” or an “investor relations contract” or “editorial charge” or whatever they might call it, in exchange for covering this particular stock and mailing their stock-lust commentary to anyone they can find.
AGRT looks like a classic promoted stock to me, from just a quick glance. Stock promotion is usually done either by the company itself, to raise awareness and drive the share price up, sometimes so that they can raise money on better terms, or, perhaps more frequently, by outside traders who are trying to “pump and dump” the shares — drive them up so they can sell at a big profit. The former can sometimes be at least slightly legitimate, even though it doesn’t mean the company is worth buying; the former should always be avoided unless you’re one of the cowboys who tries to trade up and down with the stock promoters (they’ve got it rigged on their side — they know when the promotion will start and stop and you don’t, so be careful if you try to ride their coattails).
