  1. I assume you’re referring to the royalty companies like Royal Gold and Sandstorm Gold and Franco-Nevada. Royal Gold is a US company and trades primarily in the US, but Franco-Nevada and Sandstorm are Canadian and trade primarily in Canada.

All are common stocks, their business is in buying and managing gold royalties and gold “streams”, but stockholders in these companies trade them just like any other common stock. I am not an expert on buying US or Canadian stocks from overseas, but I dont’ know of any foreign ownership restrictions on these stocks; I presume that if you’re able to trade in the US or Canadian markets it should be the same as buying any other stocks in those markets.

I’ve written quite frequently about many of these companies, the most recent commentary is here: http://stockgumshoe.com/reviews/s-a-resource-report/72780-per-month-mainz-income-stream-found-inside-president-obamas-tax-returns/

Travis, I am definitely teased by Jeff Yasting’s tease of a compnay described as “UNCHARTED ASSETS” that according to Jeff, the editor of the OXFORD CLUB newsletter is about to become the darling of gold mining sector stocks with a mine situated right next to the Chinese border being funded and powered from the elecctric grid by China for their privelege of buying the mined 46 million ounces of Gold and
81 Billion pounds of Copper next to their border. The new mine is set to go into production in the last qurter of 2012 and is reputed to be the world’s largest cache of precious metals. The company is described in the teaser “Uncharted Assets” as a small stock company with a 10 billion dollar market cap. Can you toss these details into your
phenomenal THINKOLATER and come up with the real name of the stock company
which Jeff is withholding for a 90 trial membership in the Oxford Club? Thanks you so very much, Travis.

  3. Eugene says:

The name of the company is Ivanhoe Mines(TSE:IVN) (NYSE:IVN).
From 08.08.2012 their new name will be Turquoise Hill Resources(TSE:TRQ) (NYSE:TRQ).
A corporate name change is an element of a deal with the company’s mentor, Rio Tinto to ensure funding of the $6 billion Oyu Tolgoi copper and gold mine in Mongolia. The mine is suited 80 km north of Chinese border.

Is TRQ included in any royalty stocks?

Is it worth investing in TRQ right now? Do you recommend a royalty stock over another
