written by reader Vector Vest, anyone wanting to comment their service?

By ndbowie01, July 12, 2012

I took a trial of Vector Vest a few months ago,and cancelled when it was over. Now they are hounding me to rejoin. I was not all that impressed, when I back tested the Buy, Hold, Sell recommmendations. To be fair, I did not give it a good run. I would like to hear from others who either use it, or have used it and what their thoughts are.
Cheers
Neil

Hi Neil — I don’t have an opinion on VectorVest, but we do have a bunch of subscriber reviews here: http://stockgumshoe.com/reviews/vectorvest/

I have used VV for several years and primarly use it to screen stocks. I was very happy with it until I “Upgraded” my browser to usoft 7. I have had nothing but problems since then. When VV worked, it was a terific time saver. I also put a lot of weight on their Buy-Hold-Sell recomendation. Be aware that their info is always lagging.

There is, of course, no holy grail, but Vectorvest offers every tool you could possibly want in one program. I have used it successfully for 15 years. Their Market Timing Signals in 2008 and 2009 were worth every penny I’ve ever spent with them.

I have utilized VV for the last 7 years & found it invaluable for doing my DD.They provide a vast amount of information and compilations & that (possibly) contributes to their lag time. They provide financial charts with multiple options & presentations & their tutorials are excellent (for both VV & general skills.
Person to person communication are superb & never attempt to sell anything except news of an upcoming paid convocation by Dr. D. You never feel rushed when conversing with a rep.
I have no idea of how much I’ve made using VV, but it has saved me thousands using their data to convince me to forego new stock considrations. My overall grade ( if used as above) is B+ to A-. Hope this helps,
