written by reader Jeff Yastine’s prediction of April 30th historic FED move . . .

by mreith | March 21, 2013 8:24 am

Jeff Yastine[1] of the Oxford Club[2] is hyping ways to profit off a mandatory move to digital money only, pointing to how to invest in silver[3] streaming companies, gold[4] investments, a tiny California company that has to do with security related to reducing electronic theft, and a small company(s) that have to do with handling retail cash transactions and others. Beside the dire warning of a FED coup on the April 30th, anybody with clues to these companies?

I listened to Jeff Y’s pitch recently . . Finding it difficult to believe that the U.S. moving to
becoming a cashless society would be that big a deal. Aren’t we 80% there right now??
As for the silver streaming company with the $4 silver / / thinking it has to be
SLW . . . I have no clue about the California company with the technology to
repel hackers . . . sounds intriguing if it’s ‘real’.

Every week I get at least one of these “Special Reports of Vital Interest” from one financial oracle or another. Same MO each time – they blow a lot of hot air, hinting around at something extremely important that “you must know about”. The big news is always a silly let down, followed by a way to profit on the doom report by – you guessed it – paying them for the secret sauce, or info or stock picks or whatever. All it does for me is identify the shills and hacks in the financial world.

I too just listened to the long presentation by Jeff Yastine in cooperation with Oxford Finance LLC.
Sounds scary and had me going, until I started running some searches.
Oxford Finance has been in way too many court cases during the last 4 years for me to ever even think about dealing with them. Shady bunch. And that’s enough for me to click the close button on my browser.
I do agree that investing in internet security companies that manage electronic payments is a good thing, as is the idea of moving investments out of long term 10 year bonds and into 1-2 year mortgage securities.

It is amazing what people will sell their credibility for. A long time ago (90’s), I had alot of respect for Jeff Yastine and the Nightly Business Report with Bill Kangus. The fact that he gave a date for this “elimination of cash” tells us a few things. It kind of like one of those “End of the World Predictions”. If you are gullible enough, you sell everything and buy into it. When time comes and nothing happens, the messanger is nowhere to be found. I have to say I haven’t heard a shred of concensus from anyone else on this prediction.

First off, Thank you all for your (previous) input. Amazing isn’t it? Here it is June 5, 2013 and the planet hasn’t disintegrated into complete financial armagaedon but Yastine is touting the same pitch with the drop dead date now June 18, 2013. I feel gullible just listening to the spiel but grateful I checked “The Gumshoe” to verify my suspicions about the Oxford Club.

Silver Streaming – sounds like SLW for sure and since its now at about $24 a share, probably a good buy

Tiny “internet security company” – hmmm, sounds interesting – but obviously not yet coming to fruition since he was saying the same stuff back in April – smells like a “pump and dump” game going on … and trying to get some gullible get rich quick investors to take the bait…

Anyone else recognize anything in the list of 5??

Hahahahaha….the new version has “July 30” dubbed-in by somebody not too familiar with audio editing….hugely obvious!!!

If anyone saw the newsmax finacial crisis summit online with Jeff Yastine, John Shubert and Steve Forbes its the same old hype. A lot of the info was good how we are getting taken for a ride on our hard earned money. But what really gets me is i believe his (Jeff’s) one million dollar investment came from the 1000 individuals who bought into this. 1000 times $997 dollars equals $997,000. So i guess Jeff put up $3,000. Just my opinion.

It is true that statistically 15% of the stocks in a growth mutual fund do very well while at the end of the year while around 85% of the stocks under perform. Back tracking these stocks will prove that, but each year that mix changes and no one can actually predict what those 15% will be. All mutual fund managers are aware of this but they need to invest in many stocks. Statistically the average of their stock will at best match the market performance. Subtract fees and costs and they will generally under perform the market even with the 15% high flyers.
If you try to guest at what the high flyers might be at the beginning of the year you will most likely significantly under perform the market. That is the statistics of trying to beat the market.
