I posted this tease to the Gumshoe. When I saw it it reminded me of a report that I read about re-discovery of gold in Macedonia. An Australian company, Genesis Resources Ltd GES:AU has licensed it They claim there is 45 tons there. I wasn’t able to find GES trading on another exchange. The latest tease from Karim says Siberia. I googled that and there is a discovery but it hasn’t been auctioned off, so,,,.

The teaser video indicates that it is both a large player with 150+ prospects, but a relatively small player overall (at least when it comes to mining). Also in the video it indicates that it has a comparitively high beta, it has fallen to a 1/3 of a relatively recent price (which many in the mining industry have), they are cash rich, they partner with many mining companies, and they are trading for less than $5. The email that the teaser was included in also indicated that they trade for less than $2…in summary an exploration company that has a lot of prospects, a decent balance sheet, higher beta (although if you’re trading in the the sub $2 range this is expected), I’m not sure if there was any indication of which market they are trading in . I thought I picked up somewhere that they are related to copper mining in Arizona, but that could be a complete red herring. My thoughts were starting to gel along Kinross (KGC), but since they are trading at just over $5 (with a April low of just under $5), but that doesn’t seem to fit…anyhow, I have more pressing things to look into.
