Given all the biotech research hoopla surrounding dna, stem cells etc, I’d be a little nervous about the longer term income from their existing portfolio. We seem to be in a game-change period which could make innumerable existing pills and potions about as prescribable as ground rhino horn. Still I guess investing in anything that will payoff ‘one day’ requires a degree of Luddite conviction. For me, if there is something valuable/investable, it’s their established ability to get through the doors of GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Baxters, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Celgene, Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Lundbeck and The Medicines Company, et al.
