Thanks for such a thoughtful Friday File, Travis. ATUSF and AOIFF look very worthwhile. Personally I feel a little more nervous about investing in Russia as I could imagine if Mail.ru became too successful it might upset the authorities.

  2. A reasonable concern — not that I know anything specific about concerns regarding the Russian internet companies (other than the concerns that non-Russians have about them, particularly copyright infringement — essentially the same concerns that Baidu faced when it got its start and was seemingly used primarily as a way to find pirated music and video), but they do operate in a totalitarian regime as far as I’m concerned and anything Putin wants could happen. The big driver for Mail.ru will be Russian social networking, they control two of the smaller social networks and have a 40% share of the largest one.

That CVV stock has driven us bonkers as of late. I think you are spot on and I will be watching for any breaking news. On another note, I did buy more Northern Graphite , NGPHF.PK since they Ministry has allowed the mining ops to go forward. My concern is can graphene be made out of almost anything and how it affects mining for graphite?

What I know about graphene could be writ large on a fleas butt, but ‘I read’ that the size/quality of the flake is crucial and the supply of large flake is limited. There’s a penny stock company Ive been watching from this side of the pond STRATMIN GLOBAL RESOURCES PLC (STGR.L) based in Madagascar. They have oodles of large flake but suffered some production problems that delayed first shipments. However, they have supposedly overcome those probs and just been awarded a decent 200 tonnes order by Graphitbergbau Kaisersberg of Austria. The price plunged madly in feb 13 and spent time sub £0.20p. But since the latest order its ‘jumped’ to £0.255. So if you’re a graphene/graphite head, do your own DD.

    NGPHF has large flakes too.
