I just cannot understand why people have debit cards? With a credit card purchase, you get a minimum extra 30 days to pay. A debit card is paid immediately via a direct link to your bank account; how secure is that? Now there is another disadvantage coming from the Target breach ; ”JPMorgan Chase & Co said on Saturday it is notifying customers who used Chase brand debit cards at Target from November 27 through December 15 that they are now limited to $100 a day of cash withdrawals and $300 a day of purchases with their cards.”
I realize that credit card numbers were also compromised. But time is on your side if someone starts using your charge account illegally. I could be wrong but it seems to me that credit card companies are more aggressive with stops etc., when charges start rolling in that don’t meet your profile of spending.
