Going Global with your assets

This isn’t about one specific investment, I would like to get opinions from the very smart investors here about the idea of spreading your assets around internationally. I subscribe to International Living[1], and recently they sent out an email about a publication from Casey[2] Research entitled Going Global 2014. (see it here at https://www.caseyresearch.com/cm/going-global-2014[3] )
Since Casey Research[4] also publishes financial newsletters I wondered if anyone had a take on Doug Casey[5] or any of his publications. The Going Global report is $99 and it looks like it might have some useful information in it, but the sales pitch is a little strong and the ’do it now!’ kind of alarm-ism being used to sell it puts me off. So I’d be very interested in feedback if anyone has any. Thanks.
