Blacklisted countriesI tried to open a trading account with Ameritrade but was told that my country Cyprus – Yes I know- was blacklisted. Is this general or just specific to Ameritrade? Does anyone know?

I am Australian, and I live in Australia. I had an account with Ameritrade for TEN YEARS, and they suddenly closed it. The reason they gave was that they had changed their business model, and they were no longer accepting clients from certain countries. I don’t know what to think of that, but I must say it seemed rather strange, to say the least!
