I’m trading CWCO and AWK for my water plays, stock and call options. Any other takers here?
Global Water Crisis and Desalination: http://www.stockgumshoe.com/2016/02/microblog-global-water-crisis-and-desalination/ provided by questions1 explores the Motley Fools article: http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2014/03/01/5-desalination-companies-that-could-end-california.aspx Welcome to the Gummunity questions1. Best2You-Ben
The Chart of the Day belongs to American Water Works (AWK) by default. Yesterday when the market closed only 7.96% of all the stocks traded closed above their 20 Day Moving Average and only 10.51% closed above their 50 Day Average. Today is up but not much better. One day up does not a rally make! Bad syntax for an equally bad market. I found the stock as the only stock on the 52 week high list that traded a full year or didn’t have merger activity or rumors. I have nothing else to talk about.
AWK is the largest investor-owned U.S. water and waste water utility company. With headquarters in Voorhees, N.J., the company employs nearly seven thousand dedicated professionals who provide drinking water, waste water and other related services to approximately 15.6 million people in 32 states and Ontario, Canada.

Cardinal Resources, Inc. (Cardinal Resources) provides systems and solutions to water pollution, wastewater and environmental problems. Cardinal Resources is engaged in the development of the Red Bird System and sustainable technology solutions to wastewater treatment. The Red Bird System is a solar-powered water treatment system with four base production models that can also be customized to specific needs. The Mobile Red Bird, housed in a trailer; the Community Red Bird System-20 (CRB20), housed in a 20-foot International Standards Organization (ISO) container, and the CRB40, housed in a 40-foot ISO container, produce gallons of water each day. The Community Red Bird System-10 (CRB10) is designed to be air mobile for Government use and can also serve a community. The Red Bird is totally integrated and provides the pumping from the water source, filtration and residual disinfection to meet the United States and international standards. Best2You-Ben
Thanks Ben! Really like what these guys are doing and hope it could be a great investment as well! I will do some more readings on their website. Just found out that a chinese company bought not only three Red Bird Systems, but as well 51% of the company! A bit worried here that the ‘new owner’ is soon running the show and not Cardinal Resources,Inc.. I wonder why it could not have been 49%! But will further investigate!
CDNL-Me too herbalix, as I was speaking with my Indonesian friend this a.m who was unable to bathe and take care of laundry until today due to failed water systems which is a frequent occurrence despite the abundance of annual rain fall. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to the results of your investigation. Best2You-Ben 🙂
Hi again Ben,
did some search on CDNL and what I found does not look very reassuring.
Check out this SA article from Jan. 2015. (http://seekingalpha.com/article/2853886-cardinal-resources-inc-stay-away-from-this-promotion?page=2).
Looks like a lot of red flags and I definitely will be cautious before I invest anything!
Perhaps we should ask management some questions via email!
But the question is why they did not clarify those ‘questions’ before we need to ask them!
I mean if you don’t put things out in the open I have to believe you are trying to hide something. And if I have to ask you about it in order to clarify that alone makes me suspicous! Perhaps you have a different way of interpreting the article. Yes, it is SA, but that alone does not make it a bad article!
I am wondering how the company (CDNL) changed their name and entire business modell in Jan. of 2014 from JH Design to Cardinal Resources, Inc. without any kind of explanation or giving us the motivation behind it. Their bussiness model completely changed. JH Design had nothing to do with water and purification at all. It is at least very strange not explain such a move.
Let me know what you think and feel about this info!
All the Best to you too!
After more reading I am also questioning the motivation for the SA article!
It seems as if not JH Design changed it’s name, but was rather bought out by Cardinal Resources, Inc. This way they already were in the market so to speak!
Actually not a bad move if you ask me!
Need to do more research! But I like things a lot better now than this afternoon!
Let me hear from you Ben! Any comments or take on the issue??
Ben, i finally took a small speculative position in CDNL. What is there to loose?
But so much more to gain in the longer run! Love what they are doing and how things develope now. …
cheers to you Ben
I tend to agree with you herbalix; I found an update here and receive their free daily newsletter: http://www.smallcapnetwork.com/Cardinal-Resources-is-Simply-Following-the-Money-to-China/s/via/10/article/view/p/mid/1/id/576/ Please advise how I may improve. Best2You-Ben
Ben, thanks for the update from smallcapnetwork!
You are asking me what could you do better, Ben.
That clearly depends on what you actually want to accomplish at Gumshoe!
Do you want to collect lots and lots of ‘likes’?? I only ask this question because you mentioned something like that. You were asking how could you get more likes???
Personally I don’t think that should be anybodies goal here! I am not against ‘likes’ or anythong like that, but they do not mean much to me other than it tells that you already have been here at the Gummune for quite a while. They are a by-product that’s all!
I could mention one thing i noticed about your activities here. You do a lot sending out links and stuff that might be relevant to companies that we follow here, but for my personal liking this is just too much, too many links. And you, like most other Gummies don’t have the time to read them all. I don’t, that’s for sure! I would prefer if you would not send so many links, but rather focus on the ones that are important to you, then read them and perhaps discuss with us what you think about the article etc.. Personally I feel that is a lot more valuable than sending out links without really having had the time to read or discuss them.
As an example, before i had send three replies on the water thread and had asked you specifically what your opinion was, but you did not answer until the last one. I realized you probably were too busy with sending out different links all over the Gummune and accepted that.
Anyway, I hope you understand that this is really no criticism on the way you do things. Those are only my observations, and i only tell them to you because you specifically asked for it. Other than that everybody should do what they like to do best as long as there is respect. If you like to continue to send out links to millions different events and stuff, hey by all means i won’t hold it against you! I like your energy, i just can’t read and digest all the stuff you are spreading here and i believe even you yourself are not able to do that!
Once again cheers and all the Best to You too. Have a great day!
Thank you herbalix for your kind and timely response. I get “wound-up” sometimes with excitement, not from illegal drugs-Community coffee is a drug 🙂 I strive to enrich and inform the Gummune in a timely manner. As far as likes go it is not the accumulation of likes that are helpful but the interest in the article/link that is important. Best2You-Ben
Ben, do you have any idea what happened to CDNL? Looks like a major retreat! I am holding anyway, but strange as it happens just as i got on board.
Cheers and all the Best to you tambien!
CDNL-No Herbalix, my position is small as well…shall look into it further this weekend. Best2You-Ben
