MEDICAL PHILANTHROPY…Since I was in grade school I have been encouraged to donate money to the American Cancer Society and many other charities.
I am aware of recent scandals of various types, and also aware that many charities do provide humanitarian and financial aid to victims and their families.
But I must say, as cancer patient myself who is now following the field to my limited abilities, how darned little the millions of dollars donated to these cause seem to produce.
We follow dozens of promising private firms that are making real progress. Yet support from the charities that purport to fight these diseases seems completely absent. I have not seen any grants or donations from charities that are actually contributing to solving their target causes.
I have a generous disposition and I am not a scrooge. But it appears that much support for “worthy causes” is really wasted.

People in the United States voluntarily spend unbelievable amounts of money on weight loss programs and products. Not even for medical purposes. I can’t help but think that belanorib will just be a legendary total monster hit. Looking at the chart one can see plainly that the two trial deaths complately spooked everybody. What a bottom, it looks like the canyon floor in Yosemite valley…nice and flat, two thousand feet below towering cliffs. It’s selling for cash. How much can we lose ?

XON April 21 drops a bundle to 27.10. These are the guys who want to kill all the mosquitos in Africa, Asia, North and South America by introducing gene-modified mosquitos who shoot duds. . I opined previously that I think it is an improbable and somewhat dangerous strategy with unknowable consequences and that I could not invest in it. Any new disease which might spread into a pandemic deservedly receives considerable attention. The latest, Zika does not appear to have that potential but is still getting political attention and may yet cut into the financial future of Brazil in several ways.
I earlier on this thread posted concerning African Swine fever and possible impact after breakout from Africa.
Most do not like to think how close genetically we are to swine, but many diseases jump species,flu being one example with its duck, swine ,human route.

What does this have to do with investing? Research into vaccines and prevention of diseases that might kill millions is often overlooked in favour of new methods that apply to only thousands or even hundreds. Are priorities perhaps skewed and not considered in the Bio field and its exciting new tech? Just asking. Viruses are undergoing continuous
modification in the vicissitudes of genetic degradation. Note I used vicissitude instead of evolution with reason.
