Explaining “Payroll Certificates” as pitched by Oxford Bond Advantage
Checking out the “guaranteed by law” income pitch from Steve McDonald
Curious as well about “guaranteed by law” income. Sounds like short term bonds.
McDonald recommends corporate bonds — in the past, generally those have been relatively short term — 3-7 years or so, if I’m remembering correctly, though that may change if their strategy or outlook changes. I haven’t written about one of his pitches in a while, and most newsletter companies have had a hard time sustaining interest in bond-buying newsletters so his is the only one that’s been consistently active for a while (and that’s been promoted — there may be quiet ones that I hear much less about). The goal is to diversify enough that your portfolio isn’t crushed by a bankruptcy, to buy bonds below par with strong yields so you get a boost at maturity (when you’re repaid at par), and, hopefully, to not be crushed by rapidly rising interest rates (which would drop the market price of your bonds) because you’re holding to maturity.
what are these codes/.
