“Tiny $4 Solar Stock Cures Baldness!” Georges Yared

August 15th, 2008   by StockGumshoe

This is another rerun for you, but if I’m to judge by the number of emails I’ve gotten about this one was missed by many folks the first time around.

The ad is for Georges Yared and his Game Changers newsletter, which is being pushed like a Michael Phelps appearance on the Today Show. We’ve seen his stuff a few times this year, MELA has been quite volatile but has dried up a bit of late as the ads have stopped flowing (there were other newsletters hitching their wagons to that one, too, and it really pushed the stock up in the Spring); and Visa is still doing well if you bought it near the IPO price, though it’s still off its highs.

And the stock in question here — that $4 solar stock (now $5) that cures baldness? Read the rest of this entry »

“59 Chemists Corner Game Changing Ideas” Georges Yared

Anyone who has been wandering around the halls here at Gumshoe University for any length of time will know that Georges Yared has been getting a heck of a push from the publisher of his new newsletter of late — if you haven’t gotten an ad for Game Changers, your spam filter is better than most.

This spring Yared was hot and bothered about MELA, the skin cancer detection device company, and this new teaser wraps in a little bit of a healthcare twist, too — and allows Georges to drop the name of everyone’s favorite rapid growth healthcare tech company, Intuitive Surgical.

Georges tells us that this is a tiny company, operating in Read the rest of this entry »

“Our Next 15-Bagger” Georges Yared

Most of us might not have heard of Georges Yared a year ago, but any individual investor with an email address will have a hard time avoiding him now — his is one of the latest investment newsletters launched by InvestorPlace Media, the folks who make sure we all know about newsletter advisers Robert Hsu, Louis Navellier and Tobin Smith, among many others.

I think his service actually launched back at the beginning of the year or thereabouts, and so far he has notably pushed Visa and MELA in email after email — his service actually seems to have some strategies in common with both Tobin Smith’s ChangeWave and the Motley Fool’s Rule Breakers. He’s looking for growth-oriented stocks, mostly small caps, that are dominating new industries, and he seems to focus more on fundamental “story” information like product, management and growth potential than on charts or current financials (I’ve never seen his newsletter, I’m just going by the ads his publisher puts out).

But anyway, a quickie for you here today — he’s touting his “next 15-bagger”, which he says is a stock that he was in on the IPO for many years ago and hit a 1,500% gain then, but it languished for a while and he thinks it’s now poised for another similar performance. Read the rest of this entry »
