“Make $2 Every Time Gold Goes up a Buck ” McCoach

November 4th, 2008   by StockGumshoe

We haven’t heard much from Greg McCoach in the last few months — not a big surprise, perhaps, since the middle of this year saw the decline of pretty much every single mining stock and hard commodity, and those are the things he covers in his Mining Speculator newsletter.

But now, he’s got a little wedge to drive in to at least get your attention. It’s hard to fire up the greed for iron ore, or copper, or little startup mining companies right now … but he can at least get your attention when he promises a new way to profit from gold.

Perhaps it’s an indication of how hard it is to get subscribers for a mining stock newsletter now, but he’s also apparently cut the price of his relatively inexpensive Mining Speculator newsletter (doesn’t seem like he’s pushing his $2,000 newsletter, the “Insider Alert” much at all these days).

We needn’t feel sorry for him, however, since with this ad he’s trying to sell something that one can fairly easily learn about for free. Let the learning commence!

Here’s some of the sell copy from this latest ad, which I started receiving on Friday: Read the rest of this entry »

“The Greatest Economic Conspiracy in History”

October 30th, 2008   by StockGumshoe

“After 98 years of secrecy, the greatest economic conspiracy in history is finally unfolding.”

“Learn how you could turn $5,000 into $100,000 (or more) by 2009 with this safe and simple
profit/protection plan…”

That’s how this latest ad opens, with the threat that the 98-year-old “Jeckyl Island Project” economic conspiracy will ruin your retirement — though to be fair, the ad has actually been around for many months. It’s still circulating, and the ideas it espouses might be more promising today then they were when the ad was first written, but it ain’t brand new. The ad is for the Taipan newsletter, and it comes to us from Justice Little, editorial director of same.

The lead-in is a familiar one — a government conspiracy, engineered by the titans of industry, is stealing your money, and your only savior is the investment strategy sold by Taipan: Read the rest of this entry »

“Treasury’s Gold Glitch: Make Money AFTER Gold Rises” Sjuggerud

October 22nd, 2008   by StockGumshoe

Those of you who have long toiled in the dusty, grimy classrooms of Gumshoe University will probably recognize this one — it’s an ad that has been around for years, with adjustments and variations depending on the market’s pulse and on the price of gold.

The essential promise is that Steve Sjuggerud has found a “secret currency” that is gold, but outperforms gold. So what’s the promise this time?

Today, with gold having enjoyed a nice run up to $1,000 or so per ounce in the past year before falling back to below $800, he’s promising that he has found a way for you to still get in on the momentum — because he has an investment that goes up after the gold price rises.

Sounds pretty cool, no? Imagine if we could do that for other investments, just wait for them to go up and then say, “hey, I’ll take some of those shares after all … Fire up the time machine, please!”

It’s almost irresistible. So what is it?
