“Must Own Pioneer of a New Industry: Undersea Mining”

This company always seems like a science fiction story when I read about them, but you never know … just because we’re not all wearing jetpacks doesn’t mean science fiction can’t come true.

For those of you who aren’t already expert in undersea mining companies, let’s take a moment to examine what this is … and of course, the reason for doing so is that this is a recent teaser stock from Ed Bugos and his free Penny Sleuth letter. Ed tells us that the offshore oil and gas drillers, with their constant innovation and development of undersea reserves, are the ones who paved the way for this next sector — and that buying this company now is like getting in on the ground floor of that industry in the 1970s, when the energy crisis forced the development of new resources. “Chaffee Royalty Program: Mining Profits without the costs”

The people of Gumshoedom have spoken, and they have said, “what is this Chaffee Royalty thing?”

This is one of the more heavily emailed promotions in recent weeks, an ad for Chris Mayer’s more expensive newsletter, Mayer’s Special Situations that touts a few mining royalty companies that you should own …

… companies that he’d be happy to tell you all about, if you’ll just take out a subscription to his newsletter at the “sale” price of $750.

Mayer may be spot on target, and he might be brilliant … but we don’t have to subscribe to his newsletter just to find out what this Chaffee Royalty company is (or companies … he mentions a couple). Not while the Gumshoe is on the case! Read the rest of this entry »

“Putin’s Resource Roulette” — part II, nickel …

Well, time to finish up writing about that looooong teaser ad from Andrew Mickey’s Breakaway Investor that I started over the weekend. Yesterday we spent some time looking at his LNG play, which has very tenuous connections to Russia, but apparently these next few are all about our friends in the former Soviet empire.
