A friend gave me $1,000 to invest in whatever I chose. I’ve never invested in stocks or anything before in my life. I came across this newsletter and subscribed. I watched some of the stocks it talked about for about 30 days and then opened an account on an online brokerage website. I bought the stocks I chose and forgot about ’em for about a year. I just checked back on them and the total value in my account was up to $2,400. Pretty good return I thought for doing nothing. And I was supporting Green Energy. I felt good about it. Sold the stocks and I’m sitting on them to invest and do it again. Hopefully it works out as good this time.
I hooked up with their newsletter in Oct 2010 and made 6 purchases based on their recomendations.
Orion OESX – Buy $3.75 avg. dropped as soon as i bought it and was then changed to a sell. lost 15%
Ener 1 HEV – Buy $4.28 avg. dropped for a couple of months and is now recovered to $4.22 today, holding for a while
Sandridge Energy SD – Buy $5.82 trading at $7.32 today, still a hold
Suntech Power STP – Buy $9.00 trading at $9.10 today, hold
Yingli YGE – Buy $12.63 trading at $11.63 which is their highest since I bought. Hold
For the most part the jury is still out on the Alt Energy newsletter. We will see where it goes in the next couple of months.
Thanx Gumshoe,
Stu
Overall I believe I get what I paid for.
I got into this newsletter via Green Chip Stocks. I appreciate some of the equities that are reviewed, but not, as others have noted, the volatility that seems to follow recommendations. I have noticed that when I get an email, the recommended stock is usually already trading at or above the recommended buy price.
Recently three sells were suggested one week, followed by recommendations on the same three stocks the following week.
I will not be renewing my subscription for now.
I would say that I made money on the recommendations. While that was the reason I suscribed, it was not enough to put up with the suprising amount of spam this membership generated. I get more spam from Angel Publishing than any other source. I also gave them my “good” email address which is now tainted. I have since unsuscribed.
I became a subscriber to this e-journal as I was intreagued by their advertising. While the stocks recommended are exciting, and have performed well over the time frame I subscribed, they have all had periods of downtrends as well. The advertising on the gains is not genuine. The examples aer all calculated on best case scenario’s with optimal timing for buy and sell. In reality, many of these companies produced losses for me, and I am certain in many other readers. The authors do not give advice on timing and the potential for losing $$ is very high. Be Cautious ! There is no free lunch. Making money at stocks require hard work. These guys might know how to pick stocks, but do not help you with respect to timing – and that is what it is all about.

THIS IS ALL TOO FUNNY – I JUST CANCELLED ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SPECULATOR AFTER THEY TRIED TO FORCE A MANDATORY UPGRADE.
I HAVE REACHED THE CONCLUSION THAT ALL VIABLE AND COMPETITIVE ALTERNATIVES HAVE ALREADY BEEN BOUGHT UP BY “BIGGIES” WHO ARE SITTING ON THESE NEW TECHNOLOGIES WHILE THEY BLEED EVERY LAST DIME AS A RETURN N INVESTMENTS OUT OF ALL OBSOLETE TECHNOLOGY WE ARE STILL BEING FORCED TO USE.
FREE MARKETS? WHEN PIGS CAN FLY!
I`ve made money on Nick`s picks, however, this was possible by trading not holding long term. He was also responsive to my inquiry on a declining stock.
I have been a subscriber for the last 3 months, so I can`t tell if his picks are good quality but let`s keep in mind the markets are down all across so it`s hard access.
Also, the last two emails were very informative, about the current market and his short term predictions.
Don’t like the time wasted listening to Nick’s pitch. This would be a lot better if he just gave the stock name with a minimum of words.
