I lost more than $7000 investing $2000 in each recommendation so far during 2018. To me, O’Dell’s claims seem to be inflated because you can seldom buy in and cash out at his advertised prices even if you react quickly. On his biggest trade this year, I assume most subscribers missed the trade because they couldn’t buy below the max recommended price. If you missed that trade, you probably lost money.
My recommendation is to stay away from anything he is selling.
I have completed an analysis of all Cycle 9 trade recommendations in 2018 (12 trades, 11 realized) as of 10/31/18. Assuming an equal dollar amount for each trade results in a cumulative pre-tax return of 16.11%. I’ll leave it up to each individual whether such a return is compelling on a risk-adjusted basis.
Want to guess what happens to the strike price when you tell all your readers to sell? Yep, only Adam makes out on the trade.
Adams methodology is based on plagiarism of the sector rotation strategy. If you want to follow this method, all you need is a book on the subject from Amazon. The guy has a good model, take commonly available knowledge, repackage it and sell it.
How is it possible that this can exists. And thats all part of Dent’s Research. Probably they are researching
the bad trades and tell there subscribers to go long.
I’m in both of Adam’s programs. 10× and the cycle 9. One thing I will say is that I have never lost money faster. I’m down 96 % on his 10 x and on his cycle 9 3 of his picks right now are down over 90%.
He should be ashamed and at least refund our membership fees. I did notice that on his 10x he doesn’t list the big lost we took on it in the eportfilio. He sorta forgot to put that in.
Overall I am not at all impressed by the performance of the picks. In fact , over the past three months or so my returns are a negative 30 to 40%.
Sorry to hear. Did you get your refund money back?
Lost during the trial, got out
Correction: I counted half closed positions twice to get my 20% average return per trade last 4-5 years. More like 27% (at least according to my math). But I figure if you take/get the 90 day money back guarantee, you can do your own analysis.
Really a service without any value. $995 for nearly nothing. How is it possible that a Harvard
educated man as Harry Dent fully promoted this very bad idea. I will ask a partial refund.
Has anyone gets an answer from the publisher on these complaints?
Why not go against his trades if he is that bad? You then would have a profitable position.
I would love to see an analysis of the scenario where you invested in a Call every time he recommended a Put, and vice versa over the past year. I bet you would make a good return.
So far I have been doing quite well with Cycle 9 over the past 4 months (July 2017) We will see how things do when the market turns.
Deb, thanks for sharing your experience. Are you still with cycle 9 alert? Have things turned around for you yet? Anyway I reach you via email? Sebastien
Losers of trades based on Adam O dell–he has zero in his name and that is what you get.if you follow him.Check James Rohrbach-trend following on daily chart with ema15 above ema30 for entry. exit long when ema10 goes below ema20.reverse logic for shorts. do testing for6 weeks understand the process as you backtest you make gains easily.
thanks for sharing the O’dell info – am watching for sources / research that confirms momentum trade/ trends and macro-events. I’ve been member of Lemetropole which the Gold group (GATA) ..- great analysis of banks ( JPM) and COMEX /market manipulation/ SEC cover-ups. Could we review results and help this community with insights? Will share info …
I’m in the Max Profits Alert, and it’s been a phenomenal loser – I made a lot of money with Harry’s recommendations, but lost it x1.5 with Adam’s crap “system” – not only is it terrible, but there’s very little communication, no answer to questions, and the recommendations are few and far between, unlike the rate at which recommendations were promised. — Adam should’ve done a mea culpa on this one and called BS on himself, because this is a program for how to make the other guy rich.
Am looking at Cycle 9 as possible research tool. Only see one positive. Is “Max Profits Alert” part of Cycle 9? or a lower cost alt.? would you like to share expense and exchange info?
I recently signed up for Cycle9. I took a large $7 put position on PBR @ .45
cents. Should I add to this if the price drops to .40 cents? Adam mentioned he might be rethinking the energy sector. Please let me know, thanks.
i am looking at the Cycle 9 pitch — and thought about sharing the cost rather dive in to service . Was it worth it? are you still in? or willing to share info?
RJ, I’m in the same boat. I’m the on fence about joining his service. It sounds very compelling. Have you joined yet? Anyway I can reach you?
Nothing that comes from Harry Dent or his minions with respect to trading is worth 2 cents. And that goes for Weisse, Davidson, Rickards, Lewitt et al.
They are all great writers but when it comes to trading advice a big fat 0.
Really? Because I joined, and looking at the history, if you made every trade he recommended in 2016, you would have made over 200% of whatever you put in each position.
WHY do you say this? Don’t just blow hot air. What proof do you have? From what I can tell, some positions will lose 100%, but overall you make a lot more than you lose. Unless he is lying about his archives and past trades, which I have seen no evidence of.
I have done the return the calculations for Cycle 9 in 2016. Total pre-tax return of 3.32% before commissions for all 17 trades. I assumed an equal dollar amount is invested in each trade.
Actually, his numbers don’t add up. The option price he indicates as his purchase price is, for the most part, lower than the price you pay. I’ve lost a considerable amount of money with both his systems and have elected for the past several months to read his recommendations as I would read a novel. In my view, playing options his way is like betting on a racehorse.
glad to see report that offers balance on O’dell/ Cycle 9… did you find time to vet his picks or just move on the GO signal — GREEN ?
