I have subscribed to this one for two or three editors and it has been spotty which may inrimate the reason for the changes. I have bought some of their picks after really letting them confirm my own info and thoughts and as a result there have been some pretty good names. Right now we have in our portfolio verfifone (pay) prospect capital (psec) and a few others all of which are on the happy side. I woud imagine that half of all newsletters which I have ever bought have come from the same joint and some are excellent but again I only let them reinforce my own ideas. By the way I love Gumshoe’s style, sharp intellect and sense of humor. As an actuary, I have always salivated over the percentages wnich all of these guys (and gals) come up with. How do you divide by zero and get 2,204.23%

I started with the previous editor and the sales pitch made it sound like to ex secret agent was making the pics. From an investors point of view the portfolio was very active and a lot of picks turned out to be dogs. Since Porter/Braden taken over returns have been better.

But to put things into perspective when the previous editor was in charge we were going through one of the most volatile periods in history and since Porter has taken over the stock market has gone up in a straight line. To sum up, this thing doesn’t have much of a track record or solid rationale (insider buying) for me to renew.
