I have been a subscriber for a little over 2 years to InsideOptions and Covered Calls by Option Monster, Pete and Jon Najarian. After a very shaky first year, they were white hot in the month before I renewed. They charge about $500.00 per month for the service, but if you committ to a longer subscription period the will give price breaks.

Inside Options gives several opinions a day. In 2011, there have been a staggering percentage of terrible trades and a rate of about 90% of all trades going to 1/2 or less. They suggest using 1/2 the price as a stop loss. However, occassionaly, an option has gone to below half price and comes back. When that has happened they tout the old “Cha CHing” or “Light a Fat One” referring to a cigar. This year has been so abysmal that there has been less of the these emails as there have been so few winners versus losers.

On Covered Calls, the recommend a stock and an overwrite. Once again they had some successes, but now over the course of 1 full year at 2 trades per month, out of 24 trades, I have had 7 winners and 17 losers, in what was largely a bull market. This service by itself is $149.00 a month, but less if you subscribe to more than one of their services.

Overall, this past year, I have lost a huge amount money. The fact that they had a hot streak before I committed to another year, ended up costing me a fortune. That hot streak was an exception and not the rule. I am so dismayed that now I am afraid to even follow any of their advice.

If this service was free, I would not resubscribe. Price is NOT performance. For the amount of money I paid them, I would have been far better off paying a premier wealth management firm, or going to the casino.
