Sector Hunter:

The service is a joke. Sector hunting as claimed by the inventor Teeka Tiwari doesn’t work a bit and in the tons of Sell recommendations it issued in March, April and May were disasters as the markets rallied. Customer service was hard to be convinced that the service sucks big time. When negative comments about the service flooded, customer service promptly removed the comments section from the website, altogether.

I still can’t believe I paid $995 for the service. I had to involve my credit card company to file a dispute of the charge to get it refunded.

Terrible! Sector Hunter is the renamed/revamped version of what was originally termed ETF MasterTrader (ETFMT) and associated “CASH alerts” from Tycoon Publishing. I have posted detailed comments about my negative subscription experience elsewhere in these forums, which you can find by searching those terms.

Terrible alerts. It is supposedly “Easy as 1,2,3” and 90% wins. Nearly everything recommended on the sell/buy alerts goes opposite of their predictions. 30 day money back which is a joke because you don’t have time to see if it is viable or not. Most of the picks wander up and down near the entry alert price then will go opposite their prediction stopping you out weeks before they issue a “rotation alert” telling you to be wary.

Hey guys,

Please do yourself a favour and leave Sector Hunter alone. I wasted a lot of time and money on the system and everything about it was a disappointment.

First, I only traded the alerts that were sent out by sector hunter. So I can safely say that the system does not work. After a year my results were:

1) I had lost 80% of my original capital, and
2) Of course I never made back my subscription fee.

An example of how “dodgy” they are: Originally the service came with a members comments section, and as you can imagine pretty soon into the system being launched there was a lot of negative feedback from the customers. One of the members said that he had reverted to doing exactly the OPPOSITE of what sector hunter told him to do and had started to make some of his original losses back! It was a total joke and became the laughing stock of most members. Then soon after that, somewhat suspiciously, the comments section suddenly closed down due to “technical problems”. Hmmmm. Fishy.

Also, I was promised a full refund if the system didn’t work for me and after months of trying to get my money back, I had to give up. They didn’t respond to my emails and phone calls and simply wouldn’t enagage in a sensible discussion with me about how they would make ammends for such a terrible service.

Trust me, do not touch this service with a barge pole – it will be a total waste of your money.

I first subscribed to Sector Hunter early in 2009. Almost all the alerts were sell signs through the course of 2009. I waited a few months before I decided to start investing. Only problem was that there were few “buys” in the months of a great upturn in the market. I should have purchased on his suggested “sells” and I would have done fine. Throwing darts to choose your stock would be better than using Teek’s Sector Hunter service. STAY AWAY if you know what is good for you.

My question is how do these guys have any subscribers at all? The service is a joke. They were on sell signals during every run up in the past 6 months or more. Hello! Why should I pay for a service that helps me loose money. I can do that on my own. I don’t think that this is the service for anyone who wants to make money in the market.

Simply put – do yourself a favor & RUN don’t walk away from this ‘service’ — money flushed away. Specifically, trades are so vague as to be no help at all! Something along the lines of ‘buy this year — and sell sometime during the same year’ … What a waste!!!

this service totally sucks. One loser after another. Teeka Tiwari runs a great line of bull about how he cares so much about the little guy and wants to “level the playing field” I think he makes his money by misleading beginner investors like me.
Lost nearly all my money following his picks. Called for a refund as promised but no one would reply to my emails. Finally tracked down a phone number. Noone would call back. When I got hld of someone they werent able to give me a refund becuase I couldnt prove my losses or some such bull.
Do yourself a favour and stay well clear of these Tycoon Report guys. Should have been smarter as i already had been sucked in by Chris Rowes option service. Lost a bit of money and figured I had been taking all the wrong recos but then found a review by some guy who had done a retro simulation investing a hypothetical $100k and taken every trade CHris Rowe recommended from the beginning of the service. Guess what?? The options expert Chris Rowe service was another big time loser. There is no free lunch!

This is supposedly some kind of swing trading service, concentrating on catching counter trends early by using some indicators to determine overbought and oversold conditions. Naturally in this unshortable market that we have had for 2 years, no sell recommendation has been worth less than a piece of crap. Guess what? With their oversold methodology, just about all they have been recommending for 2 years since I joined is sells, and just about every one of them has lost money, especially as they do not even tell you to get out when the trade is going against them.

Finally, I had enough and just cancelled. I did not even bother to ask for a refund. I just told them that their service was useless to me, and warned them not to even dare think of suggesting that I pay for some course to teach me how to use anything that they have.

I wonder why nobody else gave them a consistency rating of 5. That is what they deserve. Perfectly consistent losing trades.

Although I was not subscribed to this service, I was subscribed to ETF Trader, and have read other things produced by Teeka Tiwari, and he has made me thousands of dollars. He’s really easy to understand, a great teacher, and obviously a very knowledgeable investor. He has taught me so much that I still use till this day! Maybe the management of this newsletter wasn’t that great… Because Teeka is great!
