OK…I give up…I tried to answer Fraud’s question of if the reviews were legit (I don’t see why his review is relevant since he’s obviously NOT as subscriber)…now I’ve got glworden piling on saying making reviews like Gumshoe asks for is a “disreputable thing to do”. Gumshoe has Bill Spetrino’s personal email and anyone questioning the reviews above can reach me through my website/email as I can confirm that every one of the reviews above are legit. I can’t understand why glworden and Fraud waste their time on trying to disparage a successful newsletter….IMO, their posts are suspect and should be removed since they are clearly NOT reviews of the Dividend Machine newsletter and lame attempts to do a hatched job on Bill Spetrino.

Editor’s note: The reviews are not obvious frauds from our perspective, many reviews are posted on the same day when newsletters ask their readers to review the letter. We allow non-reviewers to “review” or comment to provide perspective and help to flag reviews they find suspicious. We intentionally are as open and hands-off as we can be while cutting off some egregious offenders, we do not contact each reviewer or try to verify whether someone is real or a subscriber, we rely on volume of comments and back-and-forth between fans and critics to reveal a fuller picture of each newsletter. Each review is screened to avoid the worst “seeding” and “spamming,” but we default to being as open as we can and letting the overall group opinion emerge.

Billy may come off as being a bit brash but he is just very confident in his ability to select stocks.Even in this downturn his selections have performed well. The weekly reports are especially helpful

My sub through Newsmax started out with Max Whitmore (sp), and when he decided to retire Bill took over, I think early last year. Max was more into high dividend payers in the 10% plus range, but of course they were not as solid as Bill’s picks, which tend to start out with smaller dividends.

I like Bill’s stock picking philosophy and will stick around unless the price gets out of hand. I was already in some of his picks, including MO at $19 with 10% divvy, which has now escalated to almost 24% if the MO/PM/KFT pie were recombined, plus it’s all up about 450% to boot. Yes, what Bill does works over the long haul, but regretfully, I didn’t back up the truck or bet the farm!

Want a do-it-yourself Dividend Machine; just learn to pick stocks the Graham/Buffet way and apply the strategy to high dividend paying stocks. Join the non-profit NAIC (betterinvesting.org) service if you need help with that! Bill just takes the work out of it…..for a price.

This is the only newsletter I subscribe to, and it’s going to stay that way. I’m in the non-profit world where I review IRS 990s all day long. I used to look at the pages and pages of stock holdings for multi-million dollar endowments and wonder how they did it. Now I know. Even better, now I’m doing it for myself AND for the tiny charity I work for.

Once I subscribed, I went back and read every single issue, and every single weekly email. Solid blue chips, solid compounding, solid analysis. Clear instructions about what to buy and at what prices. I don’t own the whole portfolio as some of the selections are over their buy prices. I haven’t lost money on a single stock, and in a month I’ve seen more appreciation than 1-2 years of my old mutual fund portfolio.

I also love that I don’t have to be tied to my computer for a buy or sell recommendation. The extreme long focus means I don’t care about market fluctuations. If the market is up on my Buy day, I buy the stock that’s farthest below its target, or I wait. If the market is down, I pile in on two or three.

“The Dividend Machine” is probably one of the most financially beneficial publications I have used for my investment strategy. Yes, Mr. Spetrino shares a many of the same philosophies as Warren Buffet. I find Mr. Spetrino can explain strategies simple enough for someone like me to understand. His assessments of individual stocks, market trends, and investment tips have been overwhelming profitable for my own investing style. Since my wife and I are former teachers, we have had the opportunity to interact with many bright individuals. Mr. Spetrino is what we would label “scary smart!” Thanks Bill!

After subscribing to his newsletter I decided to seek a refund. I don’t care for his somewhat arrogant and condescending demeanor.Taking the occasional right wing sarcastic swipe at the “Dems” is not what I paid for. Then I should have known with it been promoted by Newsmax. He certainly thinks he’s better than everyone else in the dividend arena and brags about his so called accomplishments. Some of his picks don’t even carry any dividend income so his newsletter is somewhat misleading.
There are better dividend offerings out there, ie the Dividend Detective who offers much more as far as I’m concerned, and sticks to the topic.

Takes a very conservative methodolgy of investing. As a senior citizen that is important. He has made me realize that market drops are best time to add to my portfolio. My son in law wants more action but slow and steady works for me.

The Dividend Machine is by far the best newsletter I have or am subscribed to. Bill focuses on helping his members maximize their Portfolio Returns within their risk tolerance. Right prices, right dividends, sound entry points and his total return philosophy is making me money.

While I receive frequent updates and opinions, I have not received the three pamphlets (ebooks)
I was promised when I signed up a couple of weeks ago.

When may I expect them?

Thank you.

Be wary of this person as he or his cohorts are involved in pretty devious attacks on people who inquire about their newsletter and if you ask questions they get very defensive and even insulting.

Not professional and most objective reviews indicate that this is one to AVOID!

The Dividend Machine by Bill Spetrino.

In short: poor 2010 performance and it comes with ultra-conservative junk emails.

The Dividend Machine by Bill Spetrino always starts off with some folksy wisdom or financial lesson, then usually gives a view on one stock that Bill recommends buying – at or below a specified price for a given percent of your portfolio.

A surprising number of his recommendations are for stocks that pay no dividends – which is strange for a dividend oriented newsletter. Since January 2010, he has made 8 recommendations, of those, 3 pay no dividends at all, another 3 have a dividend yield of less than 1%, another yields 2% and one yields 6.4% for an average yield of 1.08%.

All of his recommendations are for big cap companies that you already know. He looks at ONLY big caps, so I get the feeling he does not dig all that deep.

If you bought each of his 8 recommendations in 2010, at his recommended price and at his recommended percent of portfolio, you would now (8/16/10) be down about 3.7% on stock price alone (not counting dividends) and have a portfolio that yields about 1% per year. As of now, most of those dividends have not yet been paid, so you would have about a 3.5% loss following his recommendations year to date in 2010.

In fairness, he is a long term investment advisor, so these recommendations may still pan out and may start paying dividends. But, when I buy a newsletter, one of the things I look for is good advice on entry price, and his newsletter did very poorly this year.

His newsletter is published by newsmax (the people who own Fox News), and you will receive a lot of junk emails espousing very conservative views. If you are conservative, you might enjoy that, but I do not appreciate political junk mail coming with my paid subscription. I did not find significant political bias in his actual newsletter – but a lot comes in the junk mailings that accompany it. Even if you opt out of all the extra emails at newsmax (as I did), you will still receive some junk emails. I received the following emails well after I opted out: 8/7/10 Subject: Block the Ground Zero Mosque (a solicitation to join a conservative action group), 8/11/10: Sheriff Joe Arpaio: “The Feds and the Mexican Drug Cartel are After me” (a solicitation for a campaign donation). 8/16/10: Prove the Media Wrong: Tea Party Movement Not Broke (a solicitation for a contribution).

Bill Spetrino often starts his newsletter with some folksy wisdom about a lesson learned in his youth. “Now, I lived in a poorer neighborhood and one of my wealthier friends wanted a Sam McDowell [baseball] card…” He then goes on (and on) about what he learned in his youth from buying and selling baseball cards. OK, I guess – but not what I want to read.

In fairness, some of his newsletters start off with more solid information about how to invest, such as the history of Treasury bond rates and what he thinks will happen in the future.

Based on the GumShoe reader recommendations, I purchased this newsletter in July 2010 for $79/yr, but I am very disappointed, and will cancel my subscription.

Lucie Marx please email me at ticketbill@aol.com and i will PERSONALLY make sure you are taken care of

Please go to my site and watch Bill O Reilly and myself BOTh be interviewed and make your mind up yourself

I never said I was the most humble guy in the world

But like Bill Parcells once said you are what your record is and Im up over 43% in the past 14 months or so

Facts are facts for just 1 dollar you can get started with a 60 day money back guarantee and you can see if more than 30 folks here are accurate

I will also answer any questions about my service and personal investing school if you would like.Be the judge of who Iam YOURSELF

This is in response to ROB’s analysis which tells half the story about my investments

This years picks had one stock which has done poorly and is down 15% but the great John Paulson has a large position in it and im not worried. My first selection is Jan is up almost 14% the March selection is up about 14% 3selections in May one is up 10% and the other is up 24% and the other is up The June selection is up10% and in the conservative portfolio theJuly selection is down 4% and the May selection which has a 8% div yield is up over 20% You can ask Mark Hulbert if you dont believe me

Newsmax is not owned by fox news in fact if you go to Newsmax.com you will see Bill Clinton posed with newsmax.com CEO Chris Ruddy. Clinton said that Ruddy was one of the few people who was “fair” to him. So Rob’s comments do not bear out the facts

What Rob didnt tell you is I have not recommended MANY NEW conservative stocks because my OLD ones are at their buy prices

On June if you bought my 2 largest percentage stocks one is up over 15% and locks you in a more than 6.5% div and the other is up over 20% and locks you in a 5% dividend. There are 4 other stocks which made you a good return in the conservative portfolio as well

Again if you need confirmation of this ask MARK Hulbert who is the industry’s authority

Not one of the conservative portfolio stocks is down despite the market being flat for the year

I do try and explain to the reader WHY i think like i do and my job is to educate them as well as entertain them

I just want to set the record straight it is clear Rob has distorted many facts and has omitted others while lying about newsmax being owned by Fox News.Newsmax CEO Chris RUDDY wrote a great book about how Vince Foster was murdered. If Ruddy was UNFAIR to Clinton why would Clinton make a special PUBLIC appearance at newsmax.com offices????

The newsletter has a 60 day money back guarantee so if its something you may be interested in check it out

Unlike Rob’s post EVERYTHING i just told you is a FACT

I cannot rate this service, because I do not subscribe to this service – yet. At a $1 dollar trial for 60 days, that will be my next stop after I hit send. I started giving away money ( investing ) 30 days ago without having a clue. I still do not.

I have seen Bill’s name elsewhere in relation to newsmax. Now I remember where. I got a free copy of “Aftershock” by Wiedemer, Wiedemer and Spitzer. Well, I did not care for all the advertisement I got from newsmax, but I guess it is not any worse than what I get from Agora or Stanberry and Associates. I get a kick out of Porter, He is a colorful individual. But, he makes me think. He challenges my beliefs and my way of thinking. I cannot afford his recommendations though. That would be like trying to live a champagne lifestyle on a Miller High Life budget.

I got sidetracked, my apologies. Back to Bill. Between all the controversy over Bill, I have decided to check his letter out. Personally, I think he should thank you all for the free advertising you just gave him. Why do you think some of the high profile athletes and stars do what they do. It gets them noticed = free advertising.

I have been on board for about two months. This is the BEST you can get. The BIO forum is absolutely the best and the newsletter is second to none. Bill is great to work with, as well as all the others on the forum. I don’t know where these negative reviews are coming from, but are flat out wrong. If you are a serious investor the BIO forum is the place to be. Thanks Bill and all the gain

I began investing as a result of terading The Dividend Machine. I know nothing about investing. I judge weather my investing is worth while or not by weather I make a profit or not and weather or not my investments are growing or declining. So far my investments are growing, but I have not yet made a profit. In my way of thinking profit is what I have after discounting all my costs in order to invest. My investments have not yet grown enough to exceed what I have had to pay my broker to make my investments. I have a long way to go to make a profit. However I never invest moneys I cannot afford too lose.

Bill Spetrino’s Dividend Machine is simply the best investment service that I’ve paid for to date, bar none. I have experimented with various investment services with mixed results. Some of them giving contradictory advice to the Dividend Machine and others tanking my accounts. When all was said and done, it was the Dividend Machine picks that were the correct calls and had me wishing that I found and started using the service earlier.

The bottom line, Bill Spetrino knows how to pick stocks and he knows what the maximum entry value is. This surely is a winning combination for this service offered at lot less money than many of those other services with marginal or flat out losing performance records.

It’s very simple. Signed up for the TRIAL newsletter. Was Unexpectedly called out of town toward the end of the trial, and was billed the $99.00. So far no problem because of their guaranty. But I’ve been trying to get them to pay attention to me to cancel for several weeks and have been ignored. To date, 6 emails and a snail mail letter. Don’t know where to go to get them to pay attention. Guaranty says full refund within 90-days. If they keep ignoring me, they will claim that it’s too late…

The BIO forum, newsletter, the best you can get anywhere. Have been a member now about three months, and have made ALOT more here then any other service period. Bill is honest and straight forward, and willing to help you. You owe it to yourself to a least try it.
