Hmmmmmmmmmm, Google has 4 or 5 reviews of The Gartman Letter in Gumshoe Land, but I can’t find even one.
In this re-run of the recent commodities surge, Gartman’s service is one of the best although it’s pricy & mostly for Institutions they claim. I’ve met Mr. Gartman, he’s easy to speak to & will listen to your point of view, so why all the institutional brooha-ha sort of baffles me.
TGL@alberdon.demon.co.uk might get you a FREE trial of his daily letter (no wonder it’s pricy) but FREE or not, I’m sure you get a month or two to look it over & if it’s not your cup of tea, you just cancel for your MBG, simple!

Mr. Gartman hails from Canada, now resides in Virginia Beach, is a regular on CNBC & BNN…His newsletter is an extension of the views he shares on TV. Favored by institutions, many brokers & industry pros. Knowledge, Experience, Always interesting. Down To Earth advice, Serious, We listen closely.

For such an expensive letter, at the very least you would expect to get a grammatically correct piece of writing. Unfortunately, that is never the case–it’s very poorly written.
I never take his recommenations at face value either. Sometimes he’s on target, and sometime he’s way off. But that is part of the game when it comes to the financial markets, and the savvy investor will gather different opinions from multiple vantage points to make his or her best decisions. Remember, at the end of the day, Gartman is but one view.
Lastly, he has some sort of Martha Stewart fetish–quoting her one liner “And that’s a good thing” at least twice a week–which is highly annoying.
Overall, a slightly insightful commentary but not worth all the money.
