Subscriber for years, very informational. Will probably insult many readers. Richard Maybury is a no nonsense individual, he will intertain you with his style of writing. He has written a whole series of books using the pen name Uncle Eric. His web site is http://www.chaostan.com Mr. Maybury has been publishing his letter for 27 years and I have been taking it for more years than I can remember. Let me put it this way, I have never lost very much money with his recomendations. I am way ahead of the game with this gentleman. In his September 2007 issue he stated that China’s downfall would start after the August 2008 Olympics. He currently likes precious metals among other things. Sorry I kind of have to be like vague on recomendations. I was too direct on another review of a news letter, hopefully I will not get into trouble.

Been receiving Maybury’s Early Warning Report for years. Very valuable information. He has specific investment recommendations to help navigate through these volatile times. We also have the whole set of Uncle Eric books for ourselves and our children to understand the big picture in the world. I highly recommend if you want to be well informed, stay one step ahead and protect yourself and family!

I got one of your flyers in the mail along with a free issue as your sample.

I recently received a flyer introducing Richard Murbury along with a free current issue of your US & World Early Warning Report which I read from front to back in its entirety and found it to be like nothing I’ve ever read nor seen on the market. I am very impresed with his straight forwardness and not wasting the paper on matters that most common people find very hard to relate to in thier current reality.

I will definitely share my flyer and the Eralt Warning Report with people I know that will be impressed and interested in subscribing to your news letter and stock recommendations.

Richard Mayberry gives an overview of the geopolitical forces that shape our world. He offers simple solutions to our global problems based on adhering to a code of ethics. He is a great historian who educates and illustrates the underlying motivation for mankind’s continual penchant for war. His life’s work as an author adds great value to his investment guidance which is sound, conservative and timely.

I am going to give a different opinion of Richard’s newsletter. Like many of his readers, I’ve been a customer for several years. I found his analysis more entertaining than useful, however. He is correct on the long-term trends, but as Keynes said, in the long-run we are all dead. He keeps talking about a sudden collapse in the value of the dollar. Well, it’s been 30 years and the dollar hasn’t collapsed yet, and frightening readers into going into hermit mode is only going to lose them money. He makes his readers paranoid, and that’s never a good strategy in investing or in life. He also has an annoying habit of talking out of both sides of his mouth. In every issue, he will highlight the risks of inflation and deflation. Well, gee, Richard, that isn’t very helpful. Pick a direction. He says inflation long-run, but deflation can happen at any time. That kind of analysis is more CYA than anything else, and not going to make me any money. Finally, the only core recommendation he has made in the past 10 years to beat gold and silver was BHP. That’s not a great track record. Lots of newsletter writers were saying get into gold and silver 10 years ago, and if you had followed any of them (or your own intuition) you would have beaten Richard’s core portfolio hands down. Basically, Richard seems like a nice guy who understands the big picture, but he probably isn’t going to make you rich. He may save you money, but he probably won’t make it for you. If you’re worried about inflation, buy some gold.

I have been aware of Mr Maybury’s work for quite a while but have subscribed for a bit less than a year. I did not do so for stock picks (which is why I marked that lower) but for a different “macro-view”, which it delivers in spades. It’s refreshingly different in style and content and while not cheery at present, I look forward to each edition.
Anyone interested should also check out Mr Maybury’s Uncle Eric books, great intro’s to an assortment of subjects (economics & finance; law and war) and ideal for interested high schoolers and up.

I subscribed for 3 years. He is a die-hard libertarian. If you don’t like rants about the government from a right-wing perspective, you won’t like this newsletter. He has some interesting ideas about what is happening in the world but his endless libertarian rants are tiring. Paying taxes is NOT the government stealing from you in my opinion….but if it’s yours, you’ll probably like his newsletter. He doesn’t provide any performance data on his past track record of stock picks. He’s probably getting rich off subscriber income rather than prowness as a stock picker.

To understand Richard Maybury’s letters, you need to have read his books. He’s more on the gloom and doom side, but my Dear Ol’ Dead Daddy use to say, “The difference between an optimist and a pesimist is that the pesimist is better informed.” Richard will keep you informed on things the media isn’t talking about, but you can easily verify through web searches of legitimate websites. But is Richard is all you read, you’re only half informed and he is the first to admit this.

How is Richard Maybury’s US & World Early Warning Report newsletter different than Jim Powell’s Global Changes & Opportunities Report? One comes from Phoenix AZ PO box 84900, the other from Box 84908. Are the companies connected, each charging for a newsletter with similar information?
Anyone have a Dunn & Bradstreet account to compare them:
James B. Powell & Assoicates, LLC
PO Box 84900
Phoenix, AZ 85071
*******************
Henry Madison Research, LLC
PO BOX 84908

Richard Maybury and his letter, EWR, is not the typical investment newsletter. This isnt a letter that suggests stocks to buy and sell each month, its more a discussion of geopolitics, economics and macroeconomic trends that will effect your life and investments. He is very knowledgeable and interesting. His investments are long term buy and holds. On the website it shows the portfolio, date bought, price and % gain, none of them are at a loss. Many of the holdings go back to 2001, this isnt a stock trading letter and he doesnt talk about buy/sell prices. Instead, he might suggest a stock based on events, for example, because this is likely to happen xyz might be a good stock to hold. Its up to you to consider and make a decision on price to pay, etc.

HIs investments are aligned with what he feels will work best in an environment of ongoing inflation, wars, instability, current events, etc. Rumor has it the CIA and Pentagon read his newsletter on the sly, after reading it for a while you will know why this may be true.

I have subscribed for quite a few years and as far as his economic and geopolitical predictions over the years, “nailed it”. I really look forward to getting the letter and read it immediately on arrival, then again later more slowly to absorb it.

If you want the typical buy/sell stock reco newsletter this isn’t it. If you want to know about whats really going on in the govt, the world, then the newsletter is priceless. I would pay triple what he charges and not even think about it.

One more thing, I see one reviewer wrote that the newsletter is right wing opinion, this is total nonsense. Maybury is totally non-partisan and thinks both the republicans and democrats have equally screwed things up. If you are at all informed and knowledgeable you cannot disagree with that.

I also don’t think he is a pessimist at all, as another reviewer noted. I would say he is a realist and there is no agenda to his writings other than to inform and educate, and that’s hard to find in todays world.

He is straight forward and honest. I have made lots of money on hid recommendations. For example 100% plus on ATK which he recommended last year….
