Teaser Stock Performance Tracking

These spreadsheets track the performance of stocks touted in investment newsletter teaser emails, assuming a purchase of the stock on the date the email was first seen or written about by the Gumshoe. Stock prices are live with a 20 minute delay, and the sorting (best performers at the top) is updated every few days.

There is a different spreadsheet for each year, based on the year the stock was first teased, so you’ll see separate boxes for 2007 and 2008 picks — sorry, this is inconvenient but it’s the only way to share the document through Google with live prices. If you want to see the spreadsheets independently, 2009 is here, 2008 is here and 2007 is here. If you use either of those links you can copy the spreadsheets into Excel or whatever your favorite program, resort, or do what you like with them.

For a different perspective, you might also review the technical indicators that loyal reader Farley 5 has been sharing with us — he created his own spreadsheet that lists the indicators, with his recommendation to only buy those that have four or five (out of five) positive technical indicators. His 2009 spreadsheet is here, 2008 is here, and his brief explanation from the forum is here.

For more information about these companies, use the link in the right column of the spreadsheet to visit the original Stock Gumshoe writeup. New companies are added to the spreadsheet usually every few weeks, so the most recent teaser companies will not necessarily be on this page.

To submit a new teaser email or website ad for review, either email to the Gumshoe at ILoveStockSpam@gmail.com or submit it to the Stock Gumshoe Forum to see if the participants there can sniff it out (or maybe they already have). Thanks for visiting!
