As you’ll see from my “Idea of the Month” for October, also published today, I think Otter Tail is attractively valued and, though it’s in the midst of a terrible year, should be able to perform quite well in the next few years … and plus, they’ve got a nice little regulated utility at the core of their business that provides some stability and cash flow.

So I won’t go into further detail regarding why I purchased OTTR this week — suffice to say I now own some shares, and have an order in for a much lower price if they should happen to take another beating (though I’ll be watching for the earnings release to make sure there isn’t something to strike Halloween terror into my wee Gumshoe heart).  I picked up my shares between $22 and $23.
