Small Yongye Purchase

Just a quick note that I decided to buy a small entry lot of Yongye shares — still exploring the company, I sometimes like to make a first purchase when I’m intrigued by a stock, especially if it’s moving up, and spend more time looking it over as an owner, so if I still like what I see in the coming months I may be filling out the position, perhaps by sacrificing some of my Hanfeng Evergreen shares.

As I wrote a week ago when first covering Yongye, my reasons for liking this one are all about marketing — I don’t know enough yet to be comfortable with the efficacy of their products versus the competitors, but I love their marketing and outreach and their aggressive store expansion, it looks to me like they’re building a brand in a country and sector that have not yet seen serious brand loyalty develop, which is very encouraging.

More to come as I look into them further, but as of now I’m an owner of small chunk of Yongye International (YONG).
