Maybe I’m just used to the old website, but I found this new format difficult to navigate, especially the Reviews. Please go back to the old format!

  1. Sorry you don’t like it, Earl — the reviews part is still in some flux as we tinker and fix a few bugs, but I think most people will find it much improved in the long run. We’ll see how it works once everyone gets into using the new design for a little while.

I’m logged in and Travis’ Personal Portfolio link doesn’t work.

I’m interested in re-reading your remarks about Third Avenue Focused Credit Fund (TFCVX), but that name or any part of it (just “Third Avenue” or just “Focused Credit Fund” etc.) doesn’t produce any results. Any suggestions?

I have to agree that the reviews page is somewhat confusing. I like the layout where there is less white space, large headlines, etc. Much prefer a more compact layout with more information per page, much like the old layout. Too much navigating needed on the new reviews page to see an overall view of all newsletter reviews.

For me, the “title” with zebra background is not very distinctive. e.g. on the front page, it’s not as easy to scan for an interesting article as the previous design. Perhaps if you change the color of the title (make it red e.g.) and make it bold or add some small pictures beside it, it will make it easier to read.

The “older review” link on the newsletter review page, is again in the “blind spot” for me. I must carefully search it, even though it’s the bottom most link. I think you would need to put some line breaks for the link, and put it more distinctive, like making it a button such as the “post comment” link.

yes, the new design is “clean”, nice, and easy to read as a whole (like when you zoom out and print shrink it on one page, not on monitor screen reading). but while reading article per article, it seems too “plain” for me. Not as convenient as the previous design.
