written by reader MAG Silver Corp – Acquisition Target

By gmcmahon, March 5, 2012

Equedia newsletter advances a lot of info about MAG Silver Corp as having a potentially big silver/gold find in an already productive mining land area thereby becoming a lucrative acquisition target with, of course, great profit potential.
What issues bear on acquisitions, especially in an already productive area ? MAG Silver doesn’t seem to be that big a player.

Don’t know anything specific about MAG, but the recommendation from Equedia is here:
http://equedia.com/blog/view.php/The-Most-Important-Silver-Project-in-the-World

Note their disclaimer at the bottom: MAG Silver advertises on Equedia and the people at Equedia are apparently buying shares. It’s a decent size and “real” company, $500 million market cap, so it’s not a pump and dump campaign but that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily an unbiased recommendation, I don’t know anything else about Equedia or their track record.

Their main focus is Juanicipio joint venture which they own 44%. The majority stake is owned by Fresnillo PLC which is the world biggest silver producer. So its possible that they would buy out Mag. They are expecting to release a Preliminary Economic Assessment of the project this quarter so if the numbers look good that might be the catalyst for a buy out of the project.

I see that the link provided by Travis outlines what I said and more.
To me the company seems fairly valued considering the state of their projects but maybe I am missing something.

I’ve been a reader of the equedia letter for sometime. While they are often compensated for ads, their track record is pretty decent. Not all wins, but they let me know about Minco silver at 2 bucks which i sold it for 6 within months. They let me know about silvermex too when it was at 0.30 and i sold for over a dollar. They have some losers, but more winners from what I have seen. As for MAG, I think the PEA will prove their value. Their drill results don’t lie.
