anyone hear of Weiss Research out of Florida? They seem shady to me. Any comments?

Weiss Research: Martin Weiss is not a shady individual. I have utilized some of their services since early 2000,s. If I had listened to Mr. Weiss in 2007 and early 2008 I would have known to exit most securities and went to cash. I did not and lost approx $370,000. If you subscribe to one of Weiss’s services and choose to opt out they will refund your $$ per their announcements. That is ipso facto. I have done so.

I can also attest that when they say money back guaranteed, they process refund immediately. I too subscribe to Safe Money. They have a great macro record, but with any stock picking letter ymmv.

I once subscribed to them and found:
1) their Safe Money Report was their main newsletter – Weiss seemed sincere in attempting to preserve your capital versus grow it big.
2) while good for a crashing market, if you believe the market is rising, Weiss may seem to be a perma-bear;
3) Their options newsletters (at the time I subscribed) were overpriced and inaccurate. As boring as Safe Money Report is, Do NOT subscribe to the “more exciting” options newsletters unless you have a lot of money to burn.

Though a newbie, I did better on options than they did. Also, with Weiss, or ANY options newsletter, even if they refund your money upon your request to cancel, you might not find it practical to unsubscribe until you exit your positions first (and this could take weeks or even a month.
