Hello Travis, where do you see Heinz going now that WB and his group have bought it?

Travis as usual good reporting, couple questions for you and the thinkolater if you get time. I call the Train the Warren/Obama Oil Train because to me somehow I feel there was some back scratching going on. Meaning that Obama has put reason after reason for no Keystone and not that it would have a big affect on the transportation of the Bakken or Canada Sands but we have a Billionaire who got in politics saying his secretary pays more than him and gets Obama rolling some hype on the 1% of the rich paying there fair share of taxes when he himself is on of the kings at manipulating or using the write off Tax Accounting tricks .I get his big picture on his secretary tax speech , but if I was a Billionaire I think I could find another way to keep my secretary out of his tax pump for Obama, either way he has a point but capitalism and private enterprise/ slash Big Oil pay more than there fair share . Big Oil alone pays more tax revenue than they take in profits plus they serve in a lot more ways than that. But my Warren/Obama Oil Train is estimated to charge as much as $10.00 more a barrel than a pipeline, knock on wood there has not been any derails , what would the tree huggers say then besides all the wear and tear on vehicles crossing RR Tracks tires/shocks/safety, etc.I wonder if Warren pays near what Big Oil does with all the bad prom’s against them. My other question is what refineries don’t rely on rail and more on pipeline for product because that $10.00 is the Govt. energy estimate and Warren is according to them going to make an additional $22 Billion extra on the oil side not even the back haul , they said he could go back empty and still show a profit. But that is not put out there for the media like Fracking and Pipeline mishaps which we drive over hundreds of pipelines a day with out incident. Just a thought on who is benefiting not using rail for product? Thanks sorry long winded and good info from you is helped a lot Thanks.

Yes I agree with you on the what we think is there but there is much more under ground that would make everyone in the US on the green side which I think most want a clean earth even the one that throws litter out there car window, to me they would be the first to say they never made a bad choice in life. Those news letter maps and even the Dept. of Energy don’t fully show the extent of the pipelines. The technology is by far greater than a set of RR TRACKS, just in Houston alone there are more than 200 lines that go under the ship channel to all the plants, and I can’t even remember one making the news except to say how much safer and productive than rail is. I worked with Dan Duncan and several others in the 70’s and forward, what they have done is amazing. Just for example the control room at Enterprise is like being in the safest place on earth with steel walls a foot thick and technology that would make an air traffic control tower look like the 1800’s. This is not bull we where working on cathodic protection with the Russians and the patents for future life that was looking at lines that have been in the ground 10 years or longer to prevent even the thought of a pipe interior breakdown with out an uncontrollable problem from nature. The safety was like putting a man on the moon as compared to a pipeline 1500 miles away that they new the % of wear and tear way before a material problem and there up keep was way ahead of any unseen factors was to say almost overkill compared to Rail or Ships. I would probably be underestimating 100’s of times a day you cross or are a lot closer to a pipe line than you think. The glut of our neighbor in Canada and the EPA’S of the world should show just how safe they are compared to a 100 or 200 tank car train derailment and also the climate change is going to happen either way because Canada will have to use China to generate users at a better price even. I can assure you that the 50 to 100 year old drinking water pipelines and the sanitary lines are way more of a health and environment problem than any fuel or fracking driller. I was never a plastic water bottle fan but it is there fix for that problem which in turn fills landfills with plastic and oil will get the blame from the same people that buy and drink from them. We may have the right idea for the story book ending but China and the rest of the third world could care less. Easy to argue but hard to enforce and one of the biggest players to make a huge profit is walking on money when the big oil is taxed more than they profit. Warren and the ones like him get a free pass compared to what there footprint is. Sorry about the length of this but until you see what the pipeline industry has accomplished it is remarkable compared to any other transportation rail or ship truck etc. but they get the hammer along with the drillers and the refiners and above that the Rail Road Commission is it’s own Govt. and control the prices of everything that is moved from point a to b even when they are not involved they control the rates. Warren knows that and so does the trucking ,shipping, pipeline, and all they are the biggest monopoly and lobby in history and current bar none. They are a dictator from raw material to finished product to taxes and beyond even the US military would be severely impacted by any move they make. Off subject but your mile is like we all think but it is just not that simple, I would even say there is more underground where you or anybody lives than will ever be . The biggest thing that is holding us back is all the bio and wind and electric subsidies, don’t get me wrong they are the right direction but still NAT/GAS/LIQUID is a gold mine that is still the future cost and supply wise decision that could make the North Continent prosper than anything close. There are pump and lift stations and rite of ways that could change this economy quick but that Rail Road Train keeps chugging along, gotta give it to Rockefeller they where way ahead of there time and still are. Thanks for the rail /pipeline refinery follow up Travis but pipelines are not the devil that they get painted to be they are really the blood veins that cure a lot more than they get knocked around for
