also Sand also may be impacted by their buyout of Premier Royalty..your thoughts

Politics is bad everywhere, unstable countries or the EPA and permits take your choice, Sand did stumble there I would agree but Nolan has some experience around him and I will pick up more if pulls back maybe even some puts . The HFC’S and DK, WNR, AND TSO’S are puling some weight and I bought them end of last year because of the special one time Dividend, was gonna sell them but they kept running finally put trailing stops which I never use. Should have some change in my pocket to buy when gold and silver break and I think they will as long as the man keeps printing money, his jobs rule the 50 man for small companies/ health ins building houses all looks good on paper but I do not think the paper will be any good and history some how always has it’s cycle and world is not making friends instead of bird watching it is drone watching. Gold/SILVER AND GAS WILL LAST ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY CAN’T SPELL BUDGET! Down the road question if you have time , do you know anything on this XCO GAS play with them being so cheap and a money man wanting to buy them out for long nat/gas play, a $6 PLAY that this one guru says going to get bought out by 7 Bil hedge fund who turns comp’s around and this guy puts a $30 tag on them in two years he calls them a small Chesapeak with tons of land and gas down in south US. They look good on paper if nat gas goes they look like sleeper, just a thought if you have time. Keep up good work I enjoy the heck out of your STYLE!

Thanks Travis for the update – I am also pretty overweight on natural resources so might wait till/if I jump on SS further.

Overweight PM’s here but some names are so cheap right now I can’t help but nibble. GPD getting hammered today on a regulatory delay to their Brewery Creek project. Couldn’t help myself and had to buy a 1st tranche as looks to me a good price for the long term even though it kills a bit of the short term upside from possible spinout. Thoughts on good further entry points and timing, anyone?

Certainly on sale now – seeing it at $9.70 right now – am picking some up!

  6. Rosenmeyer says:

cc at 11.30 am est this morning. SAND getting hammered-trading below 10 as i write this-not sure if expectations & guidance were higher than what SAND released but it may be a good buying oppty.-reaction to the cc may indicate if folks are satisfied with the recent corporate moves & direction. Will wait on Travis commentary-he is the axe

  7. Rosenmeyer says:

SAND bounced off the lows during the cc-guess folks like the flow there-not on it unfortunately

  8. I’m still very pleased with Sandstorm management, It seems clear that they just put down a long-term investment for the Entree Gold huge growth potential but are not changing their general focus or planning to invest more in Mongolia — this deal was just too good to pass up, with the huge potential payback over the very long term, so it made it worthwhile to gamble a bit.

My opinion on Sandstorm hasn’t changed — I’m still quite pleased with opportunities to buy down around $10 a share, I still think they’ll be growing nicely and will be very profitable as long as gold doesn’t fall precipitously, but other than putting on a small option trade last week I haven’t bought any more recently. They’re still a bit cheaper than Royal Gold and Franco-Nevada and I think they’ll grow more quickly, and I still like the Premier Royalty acquisition as a strategic plan to buy a “farm team” that can rapidly do small deals.

Wow the sale continues! Now Sand at $9.15! Picking more up.
Travis; believe SAND (Incl. Warrants) is(was?) your biggest holding? Hope there is still money for food at Gumshoe mountain!

After watching for an entry point I sold the March/10 naked puts for 0.70. If the price is below $10 on March 16 the shares will be assigned to me and the cost basis will be $9.30. I’m prepared to buy at that price for a longer term holding position.

  11. petergregg says:

Yay – SAND is having a 30 percent off sale 🙂 I bought at $12 and I am not sad at all. It’s like going to the mall and finding something you wanted to buy on sale. I just bought another 1000 shares.

The whole point of having a stock like this is to cover the “market crashing” senerio if the economy busts. Otherwise, I am more interested in good dividend stocks. At this price, this covers an economic bust at a pretty good price.

  12. tookwit says:

Any news on Sand? Its having a rough few weeks. Down to 8.20 now… I haven’t found anything on the internet that is causing the fall?

  13. valentinoamoro says:

I have been following Travis’s notes. The drop is directly correlated with the drop in gold prices and future gold price expectations – not any fault of SandStorm itself.

I have reduced my portfolio to half and am selling at break even. My suspicion is gold will fall more, I will then use the lower price to build up my Sand position back again.

This company is definitely among my top picks and remains that way, I want to reduce exposure/risk until I see some sign of stabilization.

  14. valentinoamoro says:

The other alternative (riding it all the way down if it doesnt stabilize) is not a wise choice for me given I am holding a lot of warrants.
