Reaves Utility Income Fund (UTG)–still a good idea?

Raves about UTG as a forever stock doesn’t hold water[1] with us…have had a position since late 2011 and reinvested those great dividends[2] and today are NET DOWN in our portfolio with a loss of ~ 1K! 32K down to 31K in round numbers. HELP us understand WHY we should stick w this thing! Thanks!
