  1. Hi Cathy,

I’ve suggested a few of the TARP warrants and own a couple of them — there are about a dozen of them trading right now, mostly large banks but a few smaller ones. I own PNC and BPFH warrants personally and currently have a limit order in for JPM warrants if they drop to my price, but most of them look pretty good if you think financial stocks will do well — some of the stocks have risen so much that the warrants don’t give much leverage for their risk anymore, but in general those are the three that have appealed most to me. Outside of traditional banks like PNC, Comerica, Capital One, Lincoln Financial, Citigroup, Bank of America and a few others I’m probably not remembering there are also warrants on Hartford Financial, AIG, and GM, most with 2018 expirations (AIG is later, maybe 2020 or 2021) and rising dividend protection. AIG, Citigroup, Bank of America are probably the most talked about. The most detailed comments I’ve shared on these were for the Irregulars back in April here: http://stockgumshoe.com/2013/04/april-idea-of-the-month-betting-on-2018/

And Steve Sjuggerud teased TARP Warrants back in 2012, I covered that pitch here: http://stockgumshoe.com/reviews/true-wealth-systems/treasury-rights-most-controversial-investment-of-the-last-25-years/
