Hello,
Accuray makes radiotherapy machine which they call “tomotherapy”. This machines treats cancer patients. The main competitors in this very specific sector are Varian and elekta.
Tomotherpy claims to deliver radiotherapy with better accuracy and dose distribution compare to conventional delivery techniques offered by other companies. The machines are more versatile, e.g. capable to treat cancer of longer size and more irregular shape.
I believe many cancer centres are investing in tomotherapy machines and conventional linear accelerator (offered by e.g. varian and elekta), so to give oncologist more choices for treating their patients. As far as i know accuray is the only company that make tomo (slice by slice) RT machines.
