Linda: Thanks for posting that update on CTIX. I have to note, however, that I do not understand why they would make a press release out of this. For one thing, Brilacidin has activity against Gram-negatives such as Klebsiella. But they are also creating a straw man. Carbapenem-sensitive Klebsiella, which their new defensin mimetic mentioned in the clip is active against, is NOT a growing clinical problem and neither is it tough to treat. Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella is a problem, and they ignore, or disingenuously slide by that.

So, frankly, though I am long CTIX, this sort of bumfuzzling makework contentless press release really disturbs me because it smacks of insincerity by CTIX. If they cannot do any better than this, and if they cannot put our relevant news instead of flash-and-sizzle pap that means absolutely nothing, I will be rethinking my interest in the company.

Thank you, Dr. K, that’s a little disappointing I was hoping it was good news.
I’m not familiar with Klebsiella (big suprise) so I googled a bit and came up with this CDC report. On page 129 it states that Klebsiella and E.Coli were reported in 6.54% of hospitals in 2012:
“Klebsiella spp and Escherichia coli (E.coli) during CY 2012. In CY 2011, 6.54 percent of hospitals reporting into CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) reported carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella spp or E. coli infections (Measure 3.2.2).”
Since my knowledge is limited in this area, I don’t know if this is a significant % and also the number is combined with E.Coli.

Am adding some symbols and just putting opinion = ‘Y’ and a link. Folks can draw their own conclusions from the comment. This came about due to some very nuanced recent comments. Only irregulars will be able to get to the newest links as the articles they point to are for irregulars only. This would work as a teaser for GS. Wha da ya think boss(es)?

OPP; Are you also thinking of a “Y” with amber for the former Y negative or those with possibilities in future or may be problems. Just a thought so we don’t lose original thought of KSS ?

I am not really into the color code or even the positive or negative on the spread sheet. Just the link to the pertinent comment. But I would not change those from the past unless I create the link. That is work I do not care to do unless I get totally bored. I will do this going forward and perhaps go back and catch a few as I review my investment decisions.

If I have understood correctly, I think there should just be a ‘Detailed Comment Link’. KSS’s opinion already has a rating and link; it could be misleading and subjective if anyone else’s opinion was rated as GS policy. This is, after all, KSS’s thread. One can never be 100% sure of the provenance/merits/motivation of other contributions. That’s not to say they are not good, interesting and extremely valuable toward helping others to do their own DD, toward their own investment decision. They’re just not GS ‘policy’.

Not sure if you understand, this is for Dr. KSS comments. How about I change the “Y to the word “commentary” and provide the link. We would drop the positive or negative. People would have to read the comment and make their own determination from what is stated.
Since JZ is not a paid contributor perhaps he/she either should not be on the spreadsheet or we just provide links to that commentary if there is any. Currently that column is just indicators without any substance behind it. Science = opinion and why, Management = opinion and why, Finance = funding, burn rate, funded through…., etc…..

I agree that my opinion column should be removed… I just don’t have the time to contribute in great detail. It was a bit of over exuberance on my part in the beginning, but I really don’t have the time.

Opposeablethumb – As for as i understand JZ, he is very good in knowing companies and pricing, finance when to buy etc. I would say keep his opinion too.
Dr KSS and JZ both are very good on there subjects.
That is my personal opinion.
JZ – Please don’t leave us. Even if you don’t have time to contribute in great detail, we are good. Time to time even small simple things make difference.
Thanks
Om

It is not like I have the authority or the inclination to dump JZ. JZ has provided entry points or targets on stocks. Nothing is stopping that. And I have not removed anything from the column. My perspective is that we deserve more than a Y or N on these matters. Dr. KSS does not say this is good or bad and leave it at that. It is the opinion, reasoning and responses to questions that allow others to determine what to invest in or not. Also I opened this with a statement in the hopes of receiving more feedback whether others thought the same way. I have not removed JZ’s opinions yet and am still open to suggestion. But when JZ indicates a lack of time that is hard for anyone to overcome and justify that it remains.

Tx Om, Im not leaving I’ll still bring up my opinions on investment, financing, market and price points (supply/demand).
I will continue to point out good strong institutions that are involved and also any red flags such as heavy short positions and any other bad apples I may come across.
I just wont be available every day, but I will try to check in a couple times a week.

Briefly “Y” meant had given an opinion. But we changed to just pointing to the comment and let people decide if it is negative or positive. This came about because the spreadsheet was open to anyone to alter and many interpret one positive comment as a positive on the whole company. So those are all older entries in the spreadsheet – check this out by sorting on that column. This comment #207 is the discussion regarding changing to a comment entry only. It does tell you KSS rendered an opinion, I am not going back to find them, if some else did and sent me the pertinent link and stock symbol I would update the entry to the comment format.

om sharma: I have a proposal. Since there is a large following of JZs price targets I suggest we change the column to JZ Price Points. I will add new stocks and all the other information but if you would maintain his comments and keep them up to date this may serve the community better. I need to share the load if we are going to do this. This relieves my concern of only ‘Y’ and ‘N’ answers and he is not committed to anything other than comments he has already entered.

Other people have provided targets and entry points. Perhaps just a column titled entry points and a link whenever some makes a comment regarding a price target. Especially if they back it up with information such as the entry regarding GILD this morning. Fisherofmen I think it was.

It has been suggested to add another column to the spreadsheet. Just a numeric value in order to sort entries in the sequence they occurred. I see this as adding no value. Sort by the date discussed or the date entered would have the same effect. All can make a copy and do with as they wish on their own machine/cloud.

Opposable – is it human error on my part wherein I am unable to scroll to the comment column on the spreadsheet. I seem to be limited to what is actually shown on the screen. No problem scrolling down the rows, buy can’t get pass column L, and the column with the link info is in column N. I don’t know if others have the same limitation in scrolling through the columns. A possible solution may be to freeze columns A & B (?) ……. or tell me what I’m doing wrong. Thanks.

I narrowed some of the columns. Hope that helps. I can scroll over using the bar (arrows) in the lower right hand corner. Do not know if this is an issue for others. Something in the sheet seems to only allow scrolling left / right of the last few columns. Will see if I can do anything with that. Do not think freezing would help in fact it may be the issue that causes non scrolling. Do you use Google apps to access the spreadsheet? What browser and program are you using to view? If worse comes to worst you can always download to a format your machine understands.

Opposable- by narrowing the columns I can now see “com” (for comments) in column N so that does give something to click on. I am using Chrome as the browser. In the lower right there is only arrows for schooling up & down. No arrows to permit left/right scrolling.

Since I narrowed the columns those arrows will not appear unless the spreadsheet is to wide for your screen. So I wonder what size of screen you have. If I end up expanding the columns you will have to use the arrows that appear once it is to large for your screen.

Opposable – whatever changes you made did the trick. One can now scrool up/d0wn as well as across. Don’t really need the arrows. Can use the “arrows” on the keyboard. Don’t touch anything else…works great now. Thanks

It has been suggested that we include links to events on the spreadsheet. Yep, too much work for me. Time for a collaboration where anyone has one can add one. I say set up an events thread where anyone can add an event. They must enter the ticker symbol. Then I can link to the entry in the thread just like we do with comments. People can make a blurb about the event or provide a link to the event in their comment.

As I see it. The dungeons spreadsheet is still a worth while endeavor. Good stocks to short, buy puts or sell naked calls. The new ratings sheet should only have stocks on the hold, watch or buy list. But I see all the spreadsheets being maintained by one person and shared with all. Against merging but I think linking or an indicator from the comments sheet to the others might work. Such as a row that say affiliate spreadsheet “D” for dungeon ‘R’ for rating. A thread could also be established that contains the links to the spreadsheets all in one place. Finally, the two newer spreadsheets by their nature boil down the work Dr. KSS and other Gummies have performed and then provide it to the world for free. The present spreadsheet only provides Gummies that can link to the articles the ability to get to the comment.
