I have a question on the new thing coming up with South Carolina passing a law that residents can now grow hemp. This hemp can be used for all kinds of thing but my main interest is on CBD oil produced from hemp There is a co called HempMedsPX that is supplying an MLM co with medical products, no healing claims, made with CBC oil. Have you come across this or any info that would help me on investing in some of the companies. To me this is going to be big. Thank you

Medical Marijuana Inc MJNA & Canabis Science Inc. CBIS would a start. I agree that this is going to be a boom market. There’s also a substantial market in Industrial Hemp but it will butt heads with the same industry giants that got it made illegal in the first place,
I’m also looking for other opportunities in the Colorado & Washington St. area as well.
I’ll post when I come across any.

I read Alan Broschtein articles before it started charge for them. They were good.
I bot TRTC & PHOT, but sold them too quickly (because some website against Pump&Dump said it was a phony company). I should have listen to Alan who was saying the opposite).
I wish, we, in Gumshoe could get more discussion going on this MJ subject. Even selling too early I made some money.

Somehow I felt guilty to buy these MJ stocks. Hope Travis always cool therapy will enter into play.
Good luck. Let us known if you find something good. I will look for more this coming days.

I wish more and more get involved, as I need advice. It’s a growing, just starting sector. Why to neglect it?
I have a hard time justifying any of the companies being touted for their marijuana connection on any kind of valuation basis, even for the few companies that actually report real numbers to the SEC and have actual businesses (as opposed to the vapor companies that just tacked “Marijuana” onto their name and started promoting themselves) … but that doesn’t mean it can’t grow up to become a real business someday, it just means I can’t see how the current companies are worth what they’re trading for under any future I can foresee. I could easily be wrong — I thought Amazon was foolishly expensive at $50 a few years ago too, so I certainly have been known to understate the value of growth from time to time. This article was pretty interesting and relatively sober on the topic: http://wallstcheatsheet.com/business/not-all-marijuana-stocks-are-for-dopes.html
Thanks, Travis.
Heh, speaking of vapor, check out VAPE. You are correct Travis, the valuations are insane, imaginably larger than some of the bio/tech notorious P/E stocks.
Guys, i’ve been hoping some others would be interested in this sector. I happened upon an article about some Canadian companies – that are legit and legal – over the weekend. Yesterday I bought stock in 4 of them. ENRT +45.95% ATTBF +33.38% FITX +16.48 and PHOT +1.74% as of 1PM today. I am watching these like a hawk and will sell in an instant. Like i said, right now i don’t know much about these 4 stocks, but the MJ business is on fire and I am trying to make a few bucks. Of the 4, ATTBF and ENRT seem to hold the most cred.
I would love to hear what everyone thinks about how to play the MJ sector. I do feel a little guilty, and was reluctant to post, but when i saw this thread a day after i bought, i couldn’t resist.
It’s a stretch, but its medical use, and break-out opportunity, may interest Team KSS on the other thread??
Don’t be reluctant about acquiring the Cannibis sector. It’s here to stay and 13 states are seriously looking at the incredible tax revenue. Denver is bursting with growth. The big question is will big tobacco come in and buy most of these companies to control the businesses. Many are studying the ratification of the 18th amendment and all that followed. Very exciting times ahead.
I’d go with HEMP. They actually make hemp products. But beware most of these are pump and dump stocks, so trade them accordingly. A recent halt on PTOG (who had just announced mj news) and probable death on the gray sheets reminds us that is truly caveat emptor. I rarely hold overnight. This week ERBB and PHOT are red hot, or green hot if you like that…
To eduoard: indeed, I would say the whole sector is rife with pump and dump, which if you know what you are doing like any investment, can be profitable. Tight stops, don’t go huge, thinly traded/low volume (so can be hard to get out) and holding overnight (not rec’d) are all starters to consider…
I own HEMP and CBIS, and both are in the red but starting to gain ground in the past few weeks. Since they’re both penny stocks, I’m not worried, and with the booming MJ business and legit R & D in the medical aspect growing, I believe there is a potentially good upside (hopefully great!) that will justify the minor losses in the early stages. I myself use MJ extracts for intractable pain and find it much preferable to opiates both in terms of pain relief and basically no side effects (I use extracts that don’t produce a “high”). I also wear hemp clothes, very nice and similar to linen but washable and softer), use hemp oil (very high in Omegas and other beneficial lipids) both in cooking and in skin-softening products that I make myself. Hemp is also growing in the natural foods sector, in hemp milk, hemp seed flour, and lots of other products which are currently manufactured in Canada, so the US misses out on that. As you can see, I’m a big supporter of the end of hemp prohibition in the US, and I think that we are headed for a boom in legit hemp/MJ related stocks. As always, research is required, and I’ve already bailed out of one because of shaky management.
Thanks Laura. That was encouraging!
