Hi Guys,
Anyone here is subscribed to SeekingAlpha PRO? Is it useful and worth the pennies?
Plus who knows the best place to look for investment advice for the Asian market (China mainland, HongKong, Singapore, etc..)?

Thanks a lot!

Ruben

I like it a lot, but it is now quite expensive. They have a new 4k a year advance copy option without the archives which is more reasonable.

Always some interesting stuff on Seeking Alpha, though as a contributor there in the early years when they were starting up I was always struck by the veneer of “news respectability” that they were granted by being added to the Yahoo Finance news feeds, despite the fact that there is no substantive editing of any kind at Seeking Alpha (though that may have changed by now). The presence of all SeekingAlpha commentary in the Yahoo news feed gave great weight to some commentary on small and easily manipulated stocks, both short and long, and that tarnished both Seeking Alpha and Yahoo, I think, so it was good that Yahoo dropped them as a “news” source — even though that cut the traffic at SeekingAlpha by at least 20% it appears. I still like browsing the site to see what folks are chattering about, but there’s a wide, wide variety of contributors… a source for some perspective and interesting commentary and opinion hidden in a great wash of bullet-pointed claptrap, and occasionally a gem of an idea, but not a source to be relied upon without double-checking what their contributors say.

Of course, SeekingAlpha is still more than 10X as large as Stock Gumshoe, so maybe I’m just envious 🙂

Travis and others please divulge the best authors that you follow on this SA site. I find some grossly pathetic and others borderline genius. ‘Preciate ya’ll very much. Best-Benjamin

I’ve done great following Paul Mampilly’s recommendations (Banyan Hill) for his $100/year Profits Unlimited newsletter.
I am also subscribed to his other two newsletters, but they are not worth the $5,300/year that I paid two months ago. I have
extended my PU for an additional year. My only criticism, of
this very intelligent man, is the pseudo math he uses when he adds up all the gains and losses, without regard to when the
stocks were placed in Mampilly’s model portfolio. It’s also
wise to follow most of Warren Buffett’s investments.

Seeking Alpha Pro Plus is $200/month which seems reasonable compared to what Paul Mampilly/Banyan Hill charges for Extreme
Fortunes, to which I unfortunately subscribed. I just came across
an article in Seeking Alpha that recommended investing in ESIO ,
Electro Scientific Industries. That has turned out to be a gem. I am
a private investor. Does that mean I am not eligible to buy that service. I’ve gotten several gems from reading posts here on Stock Gumshoe. The last gem was Patriot One Technologies. Thanks.
