I have worrying about a likely big economic crash at least a recession and possible another great depression for the USA. The time and situation of the great depression of the 1930s was similar to where we are now.

I need, and expect a lot of others do also, a plan to diversify my investments which are currently in Municipal and Industrial Bonds[1] which have served me well the last 16 years but are all dollar based.

I have heard that investments in a mixed bag of strong foreign currencies would be a good way to preserve wealth and hopefully make for some additional buying power. I have been living off my interest from my current investments.

What might be some good specific investments be that will grow wealth independent of what the USD does?

Anyone have some ideas that we all could discuss and think about?
